Aironi have announced the signings of Cheetahs number ten Naas Olivier, Hurricanes scrum-half Tyson Keats and Brive pivot Luciano Orquera.

Olivier is first and foremost contracted to the Griquas :whistle3:

Lazy journalism tsk tsk tsk

Should prove to be a decent signing

Not surprised to see Keats go. He's definitely not the most talented halfback in the world, but he is very competitive, so i think he will be a solid backup to Tebaldi.

Delighted as I really want italian clubs to be even better next year. I think they had very good seasons this year and really had cut off bigger teams and I hope they continue to recruit and improve

Didn't Tibaldi go down with fatigue in February this year? I think they definitely need someone decent to share that workload, so it's good that a 9 has come in.

It is good that Italy are starting to build. If only this had been done a few years ago, as I do feel as if the last decade of Italian involvement in the 6 Nations has rather been wasted. Although, you could argue it has built attendances at their international games, which has brought in revenue that now helps to fund the 2 Magners League teams.

The Italian teams have been competitive, so lets hope that they can reduce their reliance on foreign players over the next few years and start to compete even more. When the Italian teams come good, the Magners League should bring in Danish teams :)

The Scots must be getting worried now.

BTW, I'd love to see some Danish teams in the ML! How is rugby doing in Denmark?

With rumours of Spain joining the Six Nations, I'd like to see some Spanish teams added. I think it might be better to either leave it like it is now, or add 2 teams at once (Georgia or Romania would be a good addition too)

well i can only speak for my local club team, but there is now full participation up and down the age groups. i understand that more schools are playing the game as well--- 7s inclusion has helped with this, and will help even more when countries switch more funding to rugby after the 2012 olympic games.

so, i would say it is going quite well in Denmark. of course, there needs to be a pathway for these players to play professional rugby, either with professional Danish teams or professional teams from other countries coming in and signing the most promising young players. Of course i would prefer some Danish teams in the Magners League, but anything which gets Danish players training in a competitive environment with good coaching and facilities will help the Danish national team.

where are the rumours with Spain? i would like the 6 Nations to be expanded in some way, but as we saw with Italy a country does not progress simply by being well beaten at international level regularly. Now Italy are in the Magners League, they look to be progressing nicely.

So, i think expanding the game must happen at club level before it can happen at international level. last i heard, the spanish clubs were not so strong in the amlin cup and were very soundly beaten by canada at international level.

A guy I know played tighthead for Denmark in their last two internationals :D

Nothing comes up on the great rumour mill that is Google.

I remember something like that crossing TRF as a news item.

Ah yes, the East Terrace. Fooling the gullible and ignorant since...?
