Looking at the score it looks like another shipwreck for the Aironi, but in fact the Scarlets (impressionante per l'intensità del gioco, and their ability to keep the ball live, so writes the Gazzetta) only cut free in the last 11 minutes wth 3 tries. At 29 minutes the score was 10 – 0, and should have been 19 - -had not Tebaldi (no 9 and M O T M) missed 3 kicks. After that the score changed hand several times until Priestland on 24 m kicked a penalty after which Aironi never got back on terms.
According to the Aironi coach (Rowland Phillips, who has been given full control from Bernini) the problem was not so much physical but mental. All the players thought that this was the best performance this year, and were disapointed at the last 10 mins.
I said in a post in September that it would be a couple of months before Aironi would be really competitive, so maybe they are now gelling together as a team. It is also due - no doubt – to the presence of Phillps as head coach and the new no. 10 Marshall, who, taking over from Mercier and with only 3 or 4 training sessions under the belt apparently had a good game.
Any posters get to the game? Any Welsh newspaper reports??

I saw the highlights last night, and am currently uploading what I can to YouTube, but the scoreboard didn't seem to reflect the game. I recon next season Aironi could look to challenge- They'll probably have a simular season to that Treviso and to a lesser extent Connacht have had this season, suprising people left, right and centre.

As for Gavin Quinell, a man was arrested by the local police just under a week ago under suspicson for causing his blindness.
