Aironi Rugby return to Stadio Zaffanella for the first time since their historic maiden victory, over Biarritz in the European Cup on 11 December.


Benetton Treviso ended their four game losing run in all competitions on Christmas Eve in the first leg of the inaugural Italian Magners League double header, where they gained a narrow victory over their fellow countrymen.

It'd be nice to see Aironi get at least one win this season and they won't have a better chance than this. They've been far from impressive this season. Sure, it's their first year as a squad, but I would've expected some progress to have been made by Christmas.

I think that in the second part of the season Aironi will be more competitive. I predicted it would be 2 or 3 mths before they started to get points, so here's hoping! Friday won't be pretty but it will be close. In any case, get out the prosecco and panettone to cheer in Capo d'Anno!
