BBC News - US prosecutors to seek death penalty for Luigi Mangione

Let's be honest, if this wasn't one of the elite that was murdered, they would not be seeking the death penalty or really getting involved at all.
100%...

I don't want to say Mangionne should get away with it, but I'm sure if the story about him becoming injured and neglected, losing a loved one, due to this... 'man' ar true, hese are extenuating circumstances no?

You have to say though, the powers who are in the club that 'you ain't in' have done a grand job of quelling public outcry, or backlash. Story's softened, he now just a unabomber obsessed nut etc...

Shame on USA I suppose for not standing up to that wretched healthcare system

Yeah he's clearly committed a serious crime and needs to face punishment, but the way the establishment figures jumped on this and were so quick to condemn it and throw vast resources into tracking him down compared to all the other murders and assassinations shows they look after their own.

I do feel those at the top are slightly jittery about the possibility of mass uprising or the beginning of assassinations of people at the top.

It seems dysfunctional to have such a politicised judiciary...

BBC News - Woman who reported predatory officer blamed by Met

They again the MET in the firing line. At some point criminal prosecution needs to happen to people until that agency gets it's act together. Spreading lies and defamatory information about sunshine complaining is illegal.

Not the first time police have done this and On a much bigger scale by South Yorkshire police and then in turn West Midlands police. And they wonder why Liverpool fans are still so so bitter about Hillsborough and their treatment. 🤔

They protect their own in the police.

It's been an embarrassment for years, just look at the headlines from the last decade, multiple women abused, child assaults, deaths of motorists, hit and runs etc... the entire agency is run by activists though, if Khan keeps putting idiots at the wheel, nothing will change.

Rowley might be the worst of the lot, he wants to eradicate filming the police, assaults journalists and then there's his attack on free speech:

"If you are setting out with an intent to stir up racial and religious hatred full stop, if we can prove the intent, that ought to be illegal."

He doesn't care about the content of the speech, he only cares about proving intent, that should be terrifying for everyone coming from one of the most senior cops in the country

And prosecution remember the DA is usually an elected position as well. Its colossal mess.

Its madness they understood the need for separation of powers and then built an entire system that avoided it.

Struggling to see the issue with 'intent' to stir up racial or religious hatred here. The content of the speech is to stir up hatred or have i misunderstood what he's saying.

Is that the alliance that they want to leave, and keep threatening members of?
Yeah, **** 'em

We'll consider them allies when they're capable of acting like an ally.

Yeah dunno why that's changed

Rather hypocritical, strumpet wants to cut out imports for American industry and now wants exports protected at the cost of local EU industry.

Can't have it both ways.

The US wants to sell restricted weapons.

I wonder how much weapons tenders go out to the EU from the US. I'm guessing none or extremely little.

Figures for 2023

Doesn't obviously include weapons costs for the US by the US.

They're probably terrified that ramped up EU production will take a bite out of the 40% share of global weapons sales.
