A Political Thread pt. 2

I really hope Greenland isn't added as a state because 51 stars will look weird. Unless we takeover Ireland too, so we have an even number.

@Leonormous Boozer, would Ireland prefer to be a US territory or US state?
Do you have any response to this that isn't a meme type "ha ha Trump is so funny" BS?

I appreciate you don't want to admit he engaged in a fake elector plot to overturn a legitimate election result but what about the other bad stuff he does, or is it just funny to you?

I don't think it's funny. I want Greenland. We have several economic and national security issues in the Artic. That's why we originally purchased Alaska from Russia.

Once Greenland votes to separate from Denmark, I'm sure we can offer them something compelling to join us a territory.

Well I can't say I'm surprised seeing as Trump is closer to his mates Putin and Xi than he is traditional allies like the UK and Europe.

Come on it is funny! He's owning the libs, being an alpha, art of the deal. He's the man....

Yep real close with Xi. Clearly shown by raising tariffs on them again.

This board is like Reddit 2.0. No wonder our universities lap yours. But don't forget, we are dumb, drooling Americans!

He's raising tariffs on everyone...apart from Russia

I think the main thing that Europeans easily forget about America is just how big it is. In size and population. You probably have a similar amount of dumb people as us. I certainly don't think you're dumb.

Do you consume any information that isn't propaganda?
I'm genuinely asking the same question about y'all. Trump ran 3x. Each time his vote share grew.

From 2020 to 2024, over 90% of counties shifted to the right.

What do you attribute you that to? Obama and Biden voters voted for Trump in 2024.

Did they somehow get propagandized after a decade +?

Can anyone on this board offer a logical, coherent argument for this? Because all I see is orange man bad and Americans are dumb.

I mean, the hardcore MAGA lot are kinda dumb, not gunna lie.

what percentage is that? 20? 30?
What % of hardcore MAGA make up Trump voters in general? Hard to say, but I'd probably go around 20-30% something like that.

I think the more intelligent ones are probably like you, very economy focussed. They'll probably concede Trump is morally questionable but they think he'll be good for the economy and put more money in their pockets so they hold their nose (to varying degrees) and vote for him.

When Trump re-entered office he pardoned everyone from J6 right. So everyone who assaulted a police officer/member of congress/staff. Those involved with injuring the police officer who died. Those who committed arson on a government building. Do you then therefore believe that those are all acceptable?

Immigration was the #1 issue. The most effective ad targeting Kamala was her extreme stance on transgender surgeries and that minuscule population.

No.

So, you would agree that Trump pardoning them all was morally reprehensible?
I think it was continuing an abuse of the presidents pardon powers. I thought Biden pardoning his entire family including his son's corrupt actions was horrible and then J6 pardons. Neither is good.

Agree r.e Hunter Biden. Does it not speak volumes that JB issues precautionary pardons to people who weren't even under investigation/accused of anything, just because of the fear of politically motivated retaliatory investigations?

I'm going to be honest, I figured I'd engage over here as a good faith response to non-American inquirers around our political climate.

But the responses and reactions are so shallow and almost repeating Dem talking points from 5 years ago. There is nothing interesting being discussed here.

It's quite clear most of you don't travel here often, have a diverse set of American friends, or are interested in our country.

Do you see Americans opining about Keir or the UK in general. No. Most of us don't know enough to comment so we stay off on the sidelines.

I'll head back to the rugby boards. If people have genuine questions, my inbox is open.
