Isn't the point of the joke there that it isn't acceptable? Most people (apart from some idiots) got it.

You've completely missed the point I was making.Isn't the point of the joke there that it isn't acceptable? Most people (apart from some idiots) got it.
Then you had the likes of Disney turning the Star wars franchise into a pile of politically correct codswallop ......
I've seen (another dicsussion group) some people who did acknowledge a lot of that as the facts came out at the time - but had forgotten already, and back to thinking he was a muslim immigrant with religious motivation.Interesting figures and why when people go off about not integrating its important whilst some may have valid viewpoints it's important to challenge why they hold those viewpoints.
Because this is unconscious bias/racism and we shouldn't ignore it exists. I'll admit to 24-48 hours ago I had held the wrong impression because I'd not read the facts of the case.

21-24% of Britons falsely believe that Axel Rudakubana is a Muslim, an immigrant to the UK, and was motivated by religious terrorism – and this figure has grown since the summer https://yougov.co.uk/politics/articles/51471-who-do-britons-hold-responsible-for-the-southport-attackbsky.app
Madela effects are really interesting. The only information I remember coming out was the fact he was not at immigrant. But I also wasn't paying too much attention by that point the riots created out of misinformation (speculation if feeling gererous) were far more pressing.I've seen (another dicsussion group) some people who did acknowledge a lot of that as the facts came out at the time - but had forgotten already, and back to thinking he was a muslim immigrant with religious motivation.
They were absolutely adamant that it was news to them, and they were sceptical - utterly shocked to have their own words quoted and linked back to them.
I was going to say this hardly news but its 2016 report so essentially news. You watch just about film/TV show about south asian immigrants and this side is always shown. The issue as I see it is what are 3rd or 4th generation immigrants doing? The Casey report of 2016 gives a good overview of integration in the UK. Particularly issues with female immigrants from some countries more likely to suffer DV, less likely to drive, speak english etc due to social structures.

Yeah it fits with the topic and pretty unbiased, and broad as reports go. It raises a point where 2nd \ 3rd generation are marrying wives from mainly Pakistan creating a cycle of first generation immigrants mainly women. Which i found interesting. No idea how much if anything has changed since the report.Madela effects are really interesting. The only information I remember coming out was the fact he was not at immigrant. But yeah the fact people feel back on their inbuilt prejudices is really telling.

One of the factor into the grooming gangs that one the mainstream journalists who broke the story originally (really interesting Newsagents episode) that one of the factors in those South Asian gangs (worth remembering they are a statistical outlier in terms grooming gangs overall, white men are still the bigger problem) that one of the reasons is because of the arranged marriage syndrome is they were find non South Asian girls more accessible and therefore vulnerable. Plus the mentality of being locked in waiting for a wife so not able to foster healthier relationships.Yeah it fits with the topic and pretty unbiased, and broad as reports go.
