A Political Thread pt. 2

Musk already fallen out with Farage.

I assume it's because Farage has tried to distance himself with Musk's view on Tommy Robinson.

Musk's timeline is like a child who temper tantrums with people who disagree with them.

All the bot accounts saying Rupert Lowe should take over - I'm sure it's just coincidence that all these American accounts are all very familiar with Lowe's credentials

Can't wait for Farage to tie himself in knots as he simultaneously tries to fawn over Musk for his money whilst batting aside the claims he shouldn't be leader.

Be interesting to see what happens considering Reform is a business as much as it is a political party - if Musk dangles that donation in front of him I wonder if he'd consider stepping down as political party leader but staying CEO or whatever

How much does he want the cash vs how much does he want the political power?

He wants power, look how many times he put himself up for election.

As I understand it he made a lot of money in the oil industry, plus he's got eu pensions and news columns.

Edit: correction he worked in the metals exchanges not oil

True enough

I guess the next hypothetical is does he want power personally or does he believe in reform enough to step down and use Musks cash to try and get power for Reform in general with him just as an MP instead of leader

Another easily answered question though, as he's always in it for himself and not any sort of bigger picture

He's in it for the money and noteriety.

If he wanted power he wouldn't be in fringe political parties.

No way in hell he steps down plus it would destroy reform no matter how much cash they had. Its a cult of ego not a political party.

This is objectively hilarious I.imagine Farage has been trying to explain we're not America. You have to be instutionally or casual in your racism. If you out right say the words the British will call a spade a spade and won't vote for you.

Completely smacks of Musk as usual knowing nothing about something but wading in like he does and ******* it up.

This, UKIP imploded as soon as Farage left. Reform would likely do similar. Both are cults of Farage, much as they want to pretend otherwise.

I can't stand Farage at all but have to concede that he is a brilliant communicator. Reform would be toast if he left or even stepped down. Like it or not but many people think the sun shines out his arse and get drawn in with what he talks about.

Here's a radical idea, make farage ambassador to the US instead of Mandelsson. He has trump's ear and we get rid of him here.

Mandelson is probably ideal for that role given the challenges to be faced from the incoming administration. We need to send over someone with the experience of being a complete and utter ****.

Last thing I'd want is Farage in the US permanently, plotting away

Then again he seems to be doing that now anyway

Making him ambassador would further legitimise him.

I like him where he is right now splitting the racist right wing vote.

Farage the ambassador would be like Farage the MEP (and now MP), selling out UK interests for personal gain. Ambassadors are entrusted with a certain degree of sensitive government information to enable them to do their job. You think Farage would hesitate for a second to give the Trump administration that information if it meant undermining the UK government? Hell the tosser would likely continue to undermine it publicly in the media whilst supposedly representing it.
