A Political Thread pt. 2

Interesting interview not just on Trump but thoughts on Brexit and Bojo.

Ducking hell

I know it's been like this from the start, but there is not even any pretence or effort to hide it. Anyone else would be politically dead. What is it about Trump that people ignore the blatantly obvious?

Yeah I think that is them in the tent before Trump gave his speech to them and incited them to march on Capitol Hill. Not them watching the riot taking place, which i was a bit confused before watching it more closely. Still pretty dispicable nevetheless.

Trump reportedly and unsurprisingly wasn't that outraged at the riot, but disappointed that they did so is a 'classless' way. Like any riot can be done in a classy way.

What's happening in the rest of the UK (Great Britain specifically) about the implications of Brexit and any shortages of food etc?

Reading mainly the Northern Ireland media and politicians it has focused on the DUP recently who have come out to say the NI protocol will cost jobs and has resulted in a lack of food in our shops. The DUP are blaming Remain backing political parties who voted for the Brexit deal, ultimately because it was better than No Deal.

At the moment it feels more like there will be no shortages, but that things will cost more and over the long term jobs might be lost.

From a transport POV there are delays of up to 2 days going into the ROI due the requirement of additional paperwork but nothing going on to mainland Europe. There are no delays coming into the UK that I am aware of.

I've seen quite a few stories about delays coming in but not really follows up on them. I do know many small businesses (including outside the EU) are currently not shipping to the UK. And some firms like DPD are currently now allowing people to ship to the UK.

Oh yeah and just a note I definitely noticed the price on quite a few items in my local supermarket has gone up.

Reuters reporting the police officer killed last Wednesday was a Trump supporter. Pence and Peloisi had the decency to call his family with condolences but not surprisingly nothing has been heard from Trump. Clearly acceptable Collateral from his POV.
