S&P 500 down 5% already. There was always likely to be some pullback after yesterday's rally but jeez it's like playing in a bloody casino at the moment. Few more twists and turns to come even though the trade war field has narrowed.

He added 20% at the beginning of his term, then 34% "liberation day", then another 50% retaliation
20+34+50 = 104%
Now, apparently he's adding another 20% for the fentanyl bit which was the reasoning for the first 20%

Why the White House is saying the China tariff is 145%
As we've just reported, the White House has briefed that the overall tariff imposed on most goods imported from China stands at 145%.
Yesterday, Trump announced on Truth Social that China was facing 125% "reciprocal" levies, which is what has been reported since.
However, the Trump administration is saying today that an existing 20% tariff - which was previously imposed on countries which the US says produce the drug fentanyl - will continue to be in place on top of that 125%. That takes the total to 145%.
He's just making up numbers now, tariffing twice for the same thing.

Wonder what Trump's move will be when Xi launches a special military operation to get rid of the anti Chinese nazis in Taiwan.
Just so I can catch up after a couple of days fishing. Is everyone apart from China now not being tariffed?
All joking aside you do have to wonder who in his cabinet would be able to deal with the Chinese after the way the Russians are playing his administration.

Reciprocal tariffs have been suspended for 90 days for all countries that didn't retaliate but a 10% import tax still applies across the board. Trump is trying to claim that he goaded China into retaliating and they took the bait.
Everyone's at 10% now but I haven't checked the new in a hour.
He does know how to bankrupt a casino.
