A Political Thread pt. 2

That's not the story.

The story is there has been a massive sell off of US treasury bonds in the last couple of days.

That trillion dollar debt of the USA? Doesn't take much movement in the bond market to make the interest payments really add up.

If that really starts to run away, you could be looking at the US government facing no option but to default.

Which of course, would be nothing new to the failed businessman in charge - with his track record of at least 6 bankruptcies. No-one does defaulting better than him.
You noticed something nobody else here did. Apparently the bond sell off was what caused strumpet to backtrack. Kudos

SMH at how unpredictable this Orange Buffoon is. And this is a guy that has the American electorate's pulse. A complete Basket case, including the 50% that voted for him that's all I can say.

Probably doesn't help. But I thought for a long time that America would end up tearing itself apart and every Empire will decline. Always thought their system of checks and balances would prevent such poor POTUSs.

looking in from the outside, people seem to have lost faith in the system the administers those checks and balances and so more open to ignoring or at very least pushing them to their limits

Maybe Kier does have a backbone after all.

Amusingly, about two hours after this article trump caved

Nothing in that article highlighted any strength whatsoever from Starmer...

Still negotiating with US and agreeing to concessions, still not condemning the Trump administration, still using Truss as a pejorative, still claiming no raise on taxes...

I don't know what you read, but backbone isn't it!

Case in point, do you actually read the daily beast, huggpost etc? If you do I feel for you, if you don't I feel for you!

I tell you who the real victims of this Trump tarriff debacle...
