we see it in other sports, so why not in Super Rugby??

it's over 15 years since the Super-12 was launched, and there's a lot of old jersey designs that would be fun to see again

what do you think? Worth a go?

are there any kits from Super Rugby you'd like to see in a heritage round??

our tartan shouldered number was pretty cool, i'd buy an updated version

very cool idea except my team the Stormers had a HORRIBLE jersey in the beginning !! LOL

As long as the Blues don't wear this horrible jersey...

And they need to lose this piece of crap as fast as possible

And the Canes need to get rid of this

Reds have usually maintained a pretty traditional rugby kit. This being the most traditional (like over a century old):

Would be great to pay it respect one round a year.

Super Rugby teams have some options for a Heritage Round.

Some teams have changed their jerseys quite a few times since 1996.. So they have a choice of designs to use for a heritage strip.

But for teams like the Reds that have kept a similar design right through, they could wear the jersey of an affiliated club or province. (similar to the Crusaders playing in a West Coast rugby jersey earlier this year)

Or conversely, you could have a 'grassroots' round where every team wears a jerseyof one of their affiliated clubs or provincial unions?

What do you guys think of this for the Highlanders as a heritage shirt?

Haha so can someone explain to me why they have changed their jersey in the middle of the season? To be honest I think the green looks better and is different from anything in the competition. That said I know nothing of where the colours have come from or what they represent.

Oh, you must be kidding. It looks like the colour of PUKE! Well I suppose that nicely complements that way the played in them on Friday night... like ****!!

I always thought that there were only so many ways to lose, but the Highlanders appear to be adding new ones every week.

I was listening to a Talk back rugby show on the radio today run by Willie Lose and he had the CEO of the Otago Highlanders on there and asked him about the change of jersey,The change of the jersey was due big changes happening down south, new stadium new coach 26 non Otago/Southland players in the squad.

Asked about the colours and Willie was told blue for the beautiful lakes and green for the forrest and mountains and that the deep south was viewed around the world as pure.

The new strip has been in the works for a while but due to time frames in making the new jersey these is why it was only revealed lastnight.Highlanders jersey sales were basically crap over the last few years and Adidas didn't want this to continue...

I don't buy that. The players may not be all from the region, but the vast majority of the people who pay their $$$$ to come to the games are from the region!
