I quite enjoyed some of the women's games last year, so I'll watch some at least.

Ref is surely going G to lose patience with Irish players under Fr9's feet at every rick.
Mind you, players are going to lose patience with ref.s positioning at rucks as well - way too close in, regularly in the way of play

I don't think anyone denies that that win was a peak.
They definitely played above themselves to earn that win.

The trouble for Ireland is that they do t have the domestic game to really build on that sort of success. Hopefully that will change, and the Celtic League can move up through the gears a littler, get some better player and better coaches, and provide a foundation going forwards.

A woman up for most of the 2nd half, and Ireland still not really exerting themselves - feels about even in terms of play.
Though Ireland do get a 3rd try from everyone joining a maul, to bring it back within a score.

ETA: then Fr15 nearly screws a try by stuttering before going, but the wing rescues it for her and keeps it alive for their 3rd try.
Ire 15 - 27 France
75'

Credit where it's due - I think this is the best display I've s even from Roche with the whistle.

Scotland the more adventurous, but Wales with the early score. Entertaining game.

What's a "shift ball maul" when it's at home?
TMO and ref both seem to know what they're talking about, so happy to accept that it's thing, but it sound like it's a penalty for setting up a rolling maul

Anybody watching Scotland v Wales?

What happened to first try?
The Scottish one that was written off?
That's the "shift ball maul" penalty that's confusing me.

Explanation we were given is that they didn't push through the catcher, which sounds like a standard rolling maul to me, but I fully acknowledge my ignorance on the niceties of forwards-only stuff.

Can't say I watch women's rugby, I just can't find the time. (Nothing against women's sport and I'll watch LPGA duri g the summer month's when there's very little other sports that I'm interested on.)

Good to see some improvements from us though, it was a disgrace what happened to our women's game post 2015. We need to find some ways to get the provinces playing outside of Ireland though.

Couple of excellent, quick Scottish tries to start the 2nd half (1 chalked off, rightly, for obstruction in the build up)

Thanks, yes that was the one I meant
