[2025 Six Nations] Italy vs Ireland - 15/3/25

Even with all the cards. Italy thoroughly deserved their bonus point.

Pearce still determined to card players i see
Is that a fair criticism? Pretty blatant and deserving of a card, he didn't even see it in real time and the TMO called it back, not sure you can fault Pearce in at all….

I do wonder if Italy would have had less frustration, and better late impact, if they hadn't suffered those 1st half injuries.
What if, what if, what if.

Still, didn't do enough, and the 3 cards all deserved (gotta be 2 reds)

Well done Ireland, and to quote Nick Mullins "If it stays like this, Ireland will have won the championship"
Though it's a little unlikely than the other two matches will end with no result...

Ireland deserved to win but pleased Italy got something out of that. Ireland will be irritated that it was so close at the end - it shouldn't have been.

It might be an obvious statement but it seems to me that when opposition have descent physical centres who gain man for man parity in the physical battle Ireland struggle with momentum a lot more than against those without.

Team in transition, 4/5 not bad considering and what I said would be positive pre tournament. Need some spark in that backline because the super structured approach isn't working post Johnny, Hansen showed a bit of something today but it's not enough.

Think today showed why Prendergast has / is being allowed to learn on the job. Crowley was very ball shy today.

Weirdly bad showing from loose 5 in the pack today.

Troughing mid world cup cycle? Get worried rest of world!

Also got worse as it went on. Farrell was missed.
