[2025 Six Nations] Ireland vs France - 8/3/25

Nothing against Ireland but rugby wise I'm a bit of a Francophile and this French team needs to nail a definitive performance against a good team. This might just be that time.

7-1 is an unnecessary risk though. The front row across the whole 80 might be pretty influential here.

Gutted by the Irish injuries, and very worried by this selection. Tommy O'Brien for the right wing, and Osborne providing cover from the bench.
It's going to be a long wait until kickoff!

Nah, don't like that French nonsense me mate. I think they should speak NORMEL like me!

In all seriousness, I am of course not hoping we lose, I just think the French are pretty well matched against us and were I predicting I think they'll beat us by more than 3. I worry about our sub front row, especially if we have to use any of them early on, and starting Osbourne in his 3rd (?) best position against a very very very good winger. I agree with m'learned colleague @Leonormous Boozer that O'Mahony is not that well matched for mega heavy packs like the French. I'd be like 20% more confident were Ringrose fit and starting with Aki, which is disproportionate, but I'm nothing if not consistent on this.

We'll see what we see, big yardstick for the French imo.

Big job for Osborne bs LBB. Our sub front row does not really inspire me but glad we've gone 6-2 with no Ringrose or Osborne to put on the bench.
The front row could be where we lose this game. Would be very fearful if all 3 played decent minutes.

I think Osbourne on the wing is proof that Garry was actually going to play for Leinster to get time on the wing anyway.....

Yeah I'm sure that decision was made before the match was played, same as the email sent to Leinster, oh wait...

I'm the same, I want France to win this game. The way they play the game at their best is the way every team should aspire to play. Ireland are very watchable too, by the way. To be honest, any team with Dupont in it gets the neutral vote for me.
