[2024 Six Nations] England vs Ireland - 09/03/24

England number Ben Earl, speaking to ITV: "Unbelievable really, I am a bit emotional because Jamie lost his mum recently and we have spoken a lot about that.

"Then Danny's 100th, some of the rubbish that has been thrown at this team in the past week, apparently we are 'the worst England team ever' we have done well for that accolade.

"We knew from the beginning if we played our best game we would have a chance. Everything came together today, we are very fortunate.

"We've been training like that every day, sometimes it doesn't translate onto the pitch, people don't see half the stuff we do, but they can write what they want.

"I am just so pleased, that's where we can take this team.

"I am working hard, we are all working hard. Playing the best team in the world it brings the best out of you, credit to Ireland and credit to the fans."

Let's hope that is England turning a corner. Time to say bye to the ageing backs (Daly, Care and Ford). But what a bloody performance. Best since the 2019 semi final.

I'm thinking about his 2014 resurgence, when he went to an Olympic speed coach (Margot Robbie or something) and actually looked pacey for a while.

Margot Robbie would have lots of positive effects on me but if I wanted to sprint faster I'd probably go to Margo Wells wife of Olympic 100m gold medalist Allan.

Tbf we said this after the Boks semi
Next week is gonna be really interesting

Buzzing, don't get me wrong - but I don't consider us as having turned a corner yet
Agreed however we have a few additions that have more than confirmed they can compete with the best in the world this has to force some selection changes going forward, it's no longer a case of he looks great for club can he hack it internationally or oh it's only 10 mins against so and so.

Ireland are strong enough not to need the 6-2. Second injury was unlucky but even the first one caused enough problems to outweigh the benefit of another forward

Bravo to England, well deserved win!

Furbank and Care really tried hard to give that to Ireland though!

For the first time in ages, proud to be an England fan today, but it has to be backed up. And where's that ambition and fire previously been?

Ire were unrecognisably poor - whether they just had an off day or whether we made them look bad is one for the analysts. And we still only just scraped over the line at home. POM's yellow swung it.

George coming off with the props so early was interesting. You wouldn't normally bin your skipper early in a big, tight match.

We'll see what comes next. But tonight we we enjoy it!

Pretty spot on for England by the Telegraph.

Way better than ruck.co.uk There rankings seem all over the place.
