2021 British & Irish Lions Squad

Does the Lions have the equivalent of a 5th amendment where Gatland can be impeached and Townsend takes over?

A player revolt after one game has got to be a new record

Lions tour has a history of Welsh players secluding themselves away from the others, but surely the Irish and Scottish players are going to be fuming for their mates, and the English have a long history of being trashed by Gatland in the press to fall back on

Josh navidi is a great call
Adam beard... Who's never been anything above mediocre, ahead of James ******* Ryan? I mean, how can this be remotely justified. Even beard must have been shocked
Judging by the comments Gatland made when he was justifying Hill over Ryan Gatlands rationale is probably nothing more than he weighs more than Ryan.

I guess Adam Beard must have dominated La Rochelle every time he played them. Oh wait - there's **** all on Youtube.

I don't want to stop the Gatland bashing, so please - continue. I'll just leave this here and we can carry on.

apparently Ryan picked up an injury in the Ireland camp and ruled him out of contention

Anyway, **** Gatland

I read it a few times but i can't see where it says Johnny Gray is injured?

Adam Beard is a lion...

I'd go on a rant but my brain entered shutdown mode upon receiving that piece of information.

I have a forum challenge. Let's list 10 locks who should be in before Adam Beard.

1. Johnny Gray
2, Scott Cummings
3. Joe Launchbury
4. Devon Toner :)
5. George Kruis
6. ...

Conclusion: Gatland must still be on the WRU payroll.

Looking forward to seeing Henderson in the test matches. I wish it was under different circumstances but meh.

Say what you want about Beard but he's a young lock who's won a grand slam, a six nations championship and went toe to toe against SA in a 3 point WC semi final game (edit: as a sub) That's got to count for something. He may not be some world class lock as he's still a baby by 2nd row standards but he's not as bad as being made out.

Apart from the Beard WTF call up, when was the last time Gatland has named a back as captain? And question for Irish fans how much captaincy experience does Murray have?

Don't have a problem with Navidi call up.

Murray isn't even a member of the Irish leadership group. He's probably captained Munster the odd time but it is definitely not something he has a lot of experience with.

Conor Murray is an odd call. He's never been seen as a leader of any sort in Ireland.

I'm guessing Gatland probably drew up a list of guaranteed starters, cut out 11-15 (excluding Hogg) and then picked the guy he felt had the best credentials for the job. Which presumably means he thinks Murray is better captain material than Faletau or Furlong (not convinced he fully trusts Itoje). Which makes a certain amount of sense but it's still hard to rationalise.

Just pick the best leader and then if they don't make the side you'll have seen how the group interacts and someone will have stepped up by the time the tests come round. He's done it before, no idea why he didn't do it again.
