[2018/19 Heineken Cup] Round 1: Pool 2 (13&14/10/2018)

Conversion, wasn't it?

Munster player jumped to block to ball and landed heavily on Steenson, clattered into his head/neck.

Referee said it was accidental because it was a legitimate charge down attempt but he definitely knew what he was doing, it was a "I'm just gonna punch the air and walk forward, if you get hit it's your own fault" situation

The collision was way after he kicked the ball, as well. If that had happened from a kick from hand, rather than the tee, it was a definite penalty, maybe more.
Yes conversion sorry, at what point does a charge down become dangerous play, if 2 people are conpeting for the ball and contact each other than fair play but a conversion is a non contact part of the game, steeno wasnt expecting nor ready to be hit. For me It was reckless and dangerous play that contacted the head.

Actually the clear definition he gave was accidental and the man on floor holding ball meant the line had to be altered.
Also as was explained after. He left ground before kick and initial contact was to shoulder then under rules itbwas all deemed legal. And to be fair Garces had the explanation clear to anyone who asked and everyone on both sides on sideline agreed with interpretation.

I would add you can say Garces let alot go. But he was very clear explaining and consistent with both teams.

And Olyy I'd recheck what you said there as it was checked and Exeter staff agreed. A conversion is contact in terms if you dive for ball like yesterday and it was stated yes you can't tackle the player but rest of it is fine. So scenarios like yesterday are not technically illegal

Italian referees are about as good as Italian players then

Terrible terrible call

Gloucester compounding things with some poor decision making. That kick from Woodward was pointless.

Gloucester have looked good, generally.

A few players having good games. Morgan must be playing himself into the England squad.

Repeated offside offenses then a completely cynical tackle after not retreating 10m and not even a warning...

AND another offside offense, still no warning

Another penalty for offside in front of the try line...

Surprised no sin bin has been given to Castres.

Woodward will definitely not be in the England squad.

If Gloucester lose this, they only have themselves to blame.

Munster not competing in the lineout...on their own throw in

Wow who is the BT commentator for the chiefs game? Her voice didn't change at all when Cordero made that break for the try. She kept the same tone with no excitement what so ever...

Never a fan of judging flakers on their lineout but O'Mahony contributes more than most locks.
