Well that was the best showing by an Aussie side this season - and the best by the Reds in living memory!! Still had their score doubled by the Barrett/Savea-canes, so the gulf is as wide as ever but at least they salvaged some pride for us Skippys.

A much more entertaining game than I expected, hopefully A Savea is ok, seemed to maybe do a knee at the end of the game.

Oh, and that must be the most disallowed tries in a row by one team!

What a game! Most entertaining match of Super Rugby this year for mine.
Credit to the Reds for the way they played, I think they performed as well as they could have and certainly made a good, entertaining game of it. Just unfortunate that they were up against the best team in the comp, because they probs would've beat most other teams with that performance.
Canes were good too, not as clinical as they would've liked, but still good. Those disallowed tries were pretty telling and with a little bit more efficiency in their finishing it would've been a much bigger scoreline. Ardie was the man of the match imo (really hope his injury isn't too serious), with Jordie, Proctor and TJ not far behind.
Also shout out to Higginbotham for creating and scoring one of the tries of the season!

3 from 3 for Kiwis vs Aussies so far this weekend and all pretty comfortable in the end, only one blow out though. Can the 'Saders top it off?

I didn't find it that comfortable at all. Missed opportunities going on everywhere when we only 7 ahead. You can't be a Hurricanes fan Caitlyn.

ummm we won by 20 and it could've been much more (4 disallowed tries ring a bell?), and always looked the more dangerous side. So, like I said, it was 'pretty comfortable in the end', even if the Reds were still in it for a good period of time.

I actually agree with Caitlyn. I'm not a Hurricanes fan, but at no point in the match did I think the Reds could win it, even when they clawed their way back into it scoreboard wise. The Canes were always going to blitz them later in the 2nd half with their backline, we saw it vs the Highlanders as well. The Reds did well to hang in it and were lucky the Canes weren't more clinical with all those missed tries, otherwise it could have been a cricket score.

watched this game last night. its great watching the Barrett Brothers work off each other. its hard to remember a player making as seamless a transition into super rugby as a 20 year old than Jordie Barrett.
