[2015 Six Nations] Wales vs England (Round 1)

Scrum V is the exception but look at somewhere like WalesOnline/Western Mail - chock full of really irritating 'journalism'. Honestly if I was any other nationality looking at that website would make me hate the Welsh too.

As for the team itself, not cocky as a majority IMO. Most players when pressed have just said something along the lines of 'England are never weak and should not be underestimated. We've trained well, we're at home and we think we can do it if we get things right.' Gatland and the other coaches like to spark comments but that's their business - my focus is on the players and IMO this current team is one of the most down-to-earth, genuine and talented sides Wales have ever seen.

Really excited for tonight - going to be a tense game and I wouldn't ever rule England out but obviously my heart hopes for Wales. Watching with one of my best mates who is English, let a good time be had by all!

walesonline is exactly the website I'm referring to, along with some others. I think it's a great website, and did great coverage of the 6N launch, but in the past week or two it's just been full of cockiness and irritating articles.

English Arrogance is the theme of TRF for the months of February and March, I would like to start it but I'm never quite quick enough, well done I like your style! :p

Anyway, this is one of the two international games, the other being vs South Africa depending on line ups, that I want England to win! I think they should win, whether they do or not is up to them and Lancaster. I also have a slight suspicion Wales will be under-cooked, over emotional and prone to choking.[/QU

What choke like we did in 2013? Just saying!

Along with "some others" like cymraeg.com or welshrugbyunion.com

Would it still be cockiness if say we did win by 10 points?

If England win, will you disappear for a week?

I say if as I think wales will win. Deep down though, I hope Cipriani comes on and tears it up.

It's going to be a cracking game no matter what. No matter what, the commentary will **** me off after 20 mins.

No if we lose I'll will look at analysis on what went wrong and I'll be the first to say well done because one thing I don't believe in is excuses and I hope that England don't use the injury excuse if they lose

Unfortunately I think at Millenium, the emotion does tend to have the opposite effect for the Welsh. I'd have to predict Wales to win this one, much as I don't think we're going to get battered I do think they have the more settled side, they know what they're doing and they will do it well enough with the crowd behind them. I'd say England by less than a score, having dominated the last ten and scored a late try to get them within touching distance.

I'm especially looking forward to seeing JJ up against Davies, I'm a mad JJ fan and I've never rated JD as highly as some ... however, his experience and familiarity with the systems and players around him will count for a fair amount, as will the crowd at his back.

No matter what, the commentary will **** me off after 20 mins.

Amen to that! Even for a neutral game, Eddie Butler makes me want to kick the screen, for Wales-England ...

Those Eddie butler poetic pieces do annoy me a bit I find them a bit corny

Aye, cause Austin's on the BBC Coverage constantly during the 6N isn't he?

Jiffy's godawful usually but he steps it up a notch during Wales games. Hopefully Brian Moore is on tonight, he's the only one I don't want to catapult into the channel.

I imagine it will be Butler and Moore on comms with Jiffy, Guscott and England-verdale in the studio. So its mute pre game and half time then

Brian Moore really gets to some people, I am a huge fan, you may not like how he says things but, certainly hes very rarely wrong.

Used to really dislike Moore but as I have grown older and wiser I have come to like his style. Says it as it is and as you say, gets it spot on most of the time.

I like how Moore is pretty unbiased too, he will readily criticise England. Jiffy is much less measured when talking about Wales and seems to get close to orgasaming every time he says 'numbers'.

I fully agree. He actually gives his opinion. OK he bangs on a bit about front row play, He's not biased towards one nation or the other though and doesn't pull his punches if he thinks, for example, a player (or the referee) is having a shocker. You need somone to say "that was a p***-poor decision" for example and not waffle on about how "we all make mistakes". Always liked him as a player, like him as a commentator. Who is the ref tonight btw? I think it will be a tight game and be very dependent on discipline and refereeing interpretation of the rules. Can't see it being a free-flowing game.

Jerome Garces

Garces can **** off, I really don't rate him and it worries me that he has the whistle tonight. I've seen him be played by crowds a lot.
I sincerely hope he gives me reason to like him more, rather then less, tonight!

Well im sure he wont be as bad as Steve Walsh, especially you would know how bad he is from the last time England played Wales at the Millennium stadium.
