With the fixtures having been released today I thought we could take a first look at next season.

Stormers finally have a decent draw;

5 games before the 1st bye and then travelling to Highlanders, Hurricanes, Waratahs and Force where we should be able to take 2 or 3/4 IMO. A round 14 bye is as good as we can ask I suppose meaning we have a break and then 4 games to the end of the reular season. We miss the Crusaders and Reds which are tough teams for us.

Looks like there is no mid-year break which is good for the continuity of the tournament IMO.

Reports suggest Springbok test players are set to be rested throughout the tournament but that won't really effect the Stormers;

The Bulls have a nice draw too. Touring only at the end of the season, with games against the Blues, Chiefs, Brumbies and Rebels after a bye.

Also, with regard to the Springboks getting sabbaticals, I like the move, and I hope it happens, but you never know with SARU...

Happy with the Chiefs draw, at the end of the day you just have to play it as it comes, my eyes are super tired but it looks like we don't play the Waratahs and one of the bottom SA teams.

Ride home is a bit rough, 5 games after our last bye and 3 on the road, which includes the Reds, Hurricanes and Highlanders, the home games are the Bulls and the Hurricanes are our last game of the regular season.

The Chiefs have byes in round 9 and round 13.

The Highlanders have byes in rounds 1 and 8.

Who comes up with this crap?

Stormers had byes in round 1 two years in a row now (2013 and 2014). T2013 the 2nd bye was too early (round 5 or 6) and last year it was almost right at the end again meaning we had literally only the test window off. I'm sure the people working out the schedules are enjoying a lot of laughs at the player's expense.
