[2015 RWC] Pool B: South Africa vs. Japan (19/09/2015)

Easy to make fun of that now, but i didnt see many people making fun of that before the game.

I got abused and called clueless for saying SA will have a hard time with Scotland and Samoa. But you're right, never thought Japan!

Well, they'll probably put record scores on them now.... Im mean hell if this doesnt give them a rocket nothing will.

Fantastic. Did anyone spot a single missed tackle by the Japanese? I'll be watching it again, but if anyone spots one beforehand let me know. When they got the late penalties, I like everybody else, was screaming at them to take the draw. Can you imagine if that had been Robshaw or NZ or Oz? 3 down with the last play of the game and a penalty under the posts. Whether they make the quarters or not, this will do so much for the game in Japan, not least financially.

I don't really care what type of team the Japanese are fielding, and all this talk of an upset on the cards or catching us off guard is a bit insulting. Am I the only one thinking that we will smash them???

Even with our so called second stringers, we are still far superior to them.

Heneke Meyer is doing something wrong . Nobody could see this coming . From the comments he makes there is over confidence on his part. He says things such as when we play our best rugby we are unstoppable . Excuse me mr Meyer is it a coincidence you lost to Argentina at home !! And now Japan . You lost to Australia when you should have won !!! Why do you keep losing games in the last 10 minutes?!The picking of the second string team is evidence of his arrogance. Going forward there is no certainty the boks make it out of this group . Or maybe this was the wake up call they needed to win this word cup

I know nobody won't care but still I thought the refering was crap (and he was french), a lot of decision in favour of Japan I thought overall. This was a weak SA team and a very good Japanese team but still referee decisions were more than questionable overall.

Again, Japan really delivered an impressive performance but you could see in the eyes of the saffies that they did not understand more than half of the referee decisions and maybe they were quite right.

Nobody will care, Japan has beaten SA, everybody is happy, lets party !
Just accept the better team won. Refereeng was not the reason sa lost

George Leitch for me was one of the SR players of the season. He was great for the Chiefs and Tanaka is a really great player, he's been awesome for us for seasons now. I'm so happy for the Japanese.

Michael Leitch maybe?

Michael Leitch maybe?

That's the one, always call him George Leitch as I know someone IRL with that name lol.

I hope the Japanese can get their SR side together, I think Michael should be captain.

Haha, yeah mate I agree he had a good SR season. He was a pretty interesting buy for Waikato as I am sure not many new much about him, but he has been fantastic for Japan over the years and clearly has become a world wide name in rugby overnight. Really happy for him!

I am surprised that you think the treacherous jones is a better coach. Clive Woodward and jake white are the best coaches of the modern rugby era.

BS, Jake white yes (probably in the top two or three) Clive you've got to be kidding me. That England team was great for about 2 years around 2003 thats it. IMO he aint done jack **** since then and a monkey could of coached that England team to win that WC in 2003 it was nothing special they had the right players at the right time thats it.

Ever since Eddie left the Wallabies they've been in utter disarray. Eddie may not have won it in 2003 (he was just beat by a better team) but he certainly had a hand in the boks win in 07 and now this.

The most notable thing with Eddie is he's one of the few coaches in the world with a better than 50% percent winning record against the AB's the only other Aussie coach to achieve that was Rod Mcqueen.

Just to add was yesterday proof if you just go down the crash ball route a well executed/drilled side will still bring you close and even beat you. Seriously SA just tried to steamroller Japan and it didn't work sure they had some success but not enough to pull away ever and Japan kept on coming despite technical having an inferior skill set.

I hope Brian Moore and even more so was watching the Japanese scrum. He was probably salivating over the proper hooking and quick ball. Exactly what the scrum is suppose to be like. SA struggled all match to cope with the speed of Japan getting the ball out and the extra space they had because of it worked wonders.
