2014 Six Nations: France vs Italy (Round 2)

With the exception of the 6 minutes after half time this game has been absolutely terrible.

With the exception of the 6 minutes after half time this game has been absolutely terrible.

This has been one of the worst weekends of International rugby I've ever seen. The 6N games and the ENC games were all complete uncompetitive duds. The only close game was Spain vs. Belgium which was dour as well.

That was no arms from Huget in that try saver.
I know that 99.99% of referees will allow it, but they really shouldn't. I remember in the premiership, it was Tigers vs Saracens, and Hepetema did that on Billy Vunipola. Hepetema took a knee to the head and had to be stretchered off, but they restarted with a penalty as he'd just flung his body at Vunipola....just as Huget just did.

Could argue that should be a yellow card and penalty try, as the tackle that prevented a try was an illegal hit.

Sigh, what unnecessary reds. 10 minutes left with the game dead, a bit of sensible reffing would have seen a strong word and maybe a set of yellows.

French head butt was a straight red. Italian retaliation and the fact he had a little head nudge meant he put himself in a vulnerable position.

Well that's the strangest final 15 mins I've seen. It was just a mess.

terrible first half. France looked pretty bad. Some really good moments in the 2nd for France, and then the Italians decided to pull a Zidane. They know when all else fails, headbutt or annoy the Algerian on the French team and surely you'll get what you want. They got their fakeass try, good for them. 30-3 looked a lot better for France, but so be it. A 20-point victory is fine by me.

Italy looked very good on attack in the second, great work rate. France looked equally fine on defense. High intensity, and we secured a few try occasions.
They had a couple of very good scrums, and then we got the two huge pushes. I'm not concerned.

One concern is this: France has yet to score, besides the Fickou one on England, a truly constructed try. We've done it off broken play in the past 3 tests (SA in Nov. included).

Another is this: if Le Roux is down too, man that's a looooooot of injuries in the third row  but I guess it's cool so we can try out Diarra.
I feel Domingo will be hurt...he had to get fixed a couple of long stretches...his knee hurt...we really need him in Cardiff.

Very happy with our defense, our scrum's reply, and Huget-Fofana-Bonneval what a fkn trio...happy we got a glimpse of what they can do. Oh and Doussain looked good from the boot later in the game, excellent to see that considering our kicking problem..

cant add much more, defence very good especially with only 13 on the park, off course there will be critics but you win another 3 games like that and the Grand Slam goes to boring France i like boring, games are won on their defence in todays world and teams will not be opened up easy in the first hour, 3 good tries one brilliant i think all in all thats pretty good. for a second outing , real test in 2 weeks against Wales in Cardiff, but i will be watching in a bar in Clermont, much more important game on Sat Clermont v Montpellier and that 72 home win record of theirs could just go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well a win is a win, but we'll definitely have to step our game up if we want to beat Wales or Ireland.

Italy have very little to show. They don't have a backline. Scored their try with help from TMO and 13 frenchmen on pitch. Easy win for us, nice to see Bonneval score for his 1st cap

yep and that Clermont Montpellier will be more exciting than some of these 6N (with the exception of the 1st game Fra Eng)

I agree. You should watch the French Top14. Real rugby. Scotland wouldn't make the top half of the Top14

France were rubbish today . Their players are dirty as hell and they were fairly crap in the scrum

the italians started the scrap. That's all they could bring to the game. They had nothing else. The game was done and dusted in 10 min. Even the Italians say so : Bergamasco "3 errors, 3 tries"

Our scrum beat your scrum. We wore Eng down and won 2 penalties off the scrum. That's just another fact you can't deal with
