2014 Six Nations: England vs Ireland (Round 3)

Quadruple tie: Ireland, France, Wales and England

England are deserving of the win. Their try summed up the difference between the sides. Ireland never looked likely of a big line break. A combination of outstanding defense on their part and a lack of spark in our back line.

Cracking game, leaves the championship in a great place.

So much I want to give out about, but for the moment well done England.

There goes the Slam.

Well done England.

Devastated, we should have closed it out when we went 7 up, Sexton bottled it.

Launchbury and Brown were immense today, really happy with the win. Thought Ireland were excellent too but we should have scored more points, May blew two tries ( I agree Yarde would score) and Care made a couple greedy decisions when it would have ended up in a try if he passed wide. Great game of rugby, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I'm overjoyed with the win, but first and foremost i have to say well played both teams, and neither really deserved to lose thatgame.
Sorry to the Irish fans aswell, as i know i would be gutted in their shoes.

I am absolutely knackered and off to bed now (01:00 here), game of the 6N so far IMO. Proud of both teams.

Be brave Idris!
EDIT: Can't fault the English effort there. They played a great game and were ferocious hitting rucks and tackles. Two teams were so close!

Sorry Ireland, it could have gone the other way.
I can't sày how delighted I am that some players stood up like that. No one let anyone else down.
It's amazing to see new players on both sides such as Atwood,Henderson, Thomas and Moore stand up on this stage

Congrats England. Awesome, disciplined defence :bravo::bravo:. Mike Brown was far and away the best player on the field.

Championship is very open now. Between England and Ireland I feel.

What. A. Game!!
Really good performace for England. Pulling it off when it mattered the most

The worst part is I believed we could win it right at the bitter end.
Absolutely. Had Ireland won here today it would have ranked along the 2004 win. This England are a bloody good side, much more so than in 2006 and 2010.

EDIT - congrats to Jordi Murphy on a first cap.

Ireland still have this tournament. I can't see any other team getting close on points.

England now have the all clear to lose to Wales, thank god for that

Best two teams in the tournament I think, the standard of rugby was so high today.

The All Blacks and now this, Sexton really isn't doing enough when push comes to shove which isn't good.
