2014 6 Nations: England vs Wales (Round 4)

Feeling nervous about this game... but I have a consolation prize waiting at home should the worst happen!

He did have a very good(e) game against Bath, but as a ten. Sarries actually looked better going forward with him there than they usually do with Farrell. But Goode isn't going to play 10 for England, so as you say he's there to bring some nothingness to the game in the event of a full back or wing injury.

If he was our ten cover I could understand the Bath game being taken into account. As it is though if rather have one of the (many) on form 15s on the bench.
I agree with you completely, I'm just saying I can (for once) understand Lancaster's reasoning.
Eastmond or Watson would've been my first and 2nd choices.

I reckon Goode will be be out of the 23 as Yarde, Wade, Tuilagi and Foden come back.

This tournament has really thrown up more questions than answers in regards to the backline:

Wade and Yarde were in pole positions to take up the wing spots originally. Do you swap out May and Nowell on this account, or do you reward them for having a good tournament (so far)? Where and when does Watson come in?

Burrell was somewhat thought of as a stop-gap whilst Tuilagi and Barritt were out injured. But he has impressed. Does Tuilagi come straight back? If so, does Burrell shift to 12? Where does this leave Twelvetrees, Eastmond and Barritt? Will Sam Burgess eventually overtake all of them?

We're a year and a half out from the RWC, and we're still running with Farrell as a near-exclusive fly-half. When will Ford get a chance? Will Burns come back to form, or has he now built too much of a reputation for inconsistency? How long until a Cips recall?

And what about scrum-halves? Care looks the part, Dickson will stick around, but is Youngs in danger of dropping out entirely? Will we then look to Wiggy, who has been the form 9, or Robson, who impressed in the Saxons?

Will Foden get back to his absolute best? It would require a gargantuan rise to form post-injury to displace Brown at this point.

These are good problems to have I think. Some big progress has been made in reshaping the backline this tournament and we now have a fair bit more quality.

I don't know....they're both highly disappointing when I actually click on them...more meat on this one though, and I like those black leggings...

Anyways. As an England fan for the week, I've got to say: hoping for a fair game with great intensity tonight !

Ewis even for newcomers your prose style gives you away as French!

You talk like Louis Ferdinand Celine writes. That's a massive compliment by the way.

Anyone else excited more about this game than any other in the year? Don't care that Ireland have basically won the tournament, dis gon b gud. About to go and watch it with a Welsh family. Wish me luck. :p

I see what you mean...and I like massive things, so thank you.

Yeah, choosing 11-14 + 23 gives me a headache.

How annoying is the way that Warren says "Performance"...!!

He pronounces it as "PRA-FORMANCE".

Almost as annoying as when gangsters say "aks" instead of "ask".

DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDaaaaaannnnnnnyytyyy!!!!

CARE! Try time!
I thought his first quick tap was the wrong choice, but that 2nd one was great!
I was shouting for Farrell to grubber or crossfield on the advantage, but all worked out fantastically in the end :p

Loved the little break from Wilson as well! Thought he might go all the way

Amazing start for England... Mike Brown looks like he has something to prove! Pace, precision, and concentration so far. Wales need to wake up
