2014 6 Nations: England vs Wales (Round 4)

Oh great, bring Biggar back to play us! And have North back on the wing. Fab. Super! Awesome!

Gatland starting to regain his senses in time to spank us at HQ it seems.

We have the team to beat them . Don't panic ;) just need to get our tactics right . They have some older players now maybe we could try to run them around a bit . Tire Jones and Jenkins out asap

Nah; they don't have Ian Evans. They're doomed.:D
Charteris in top form is a better pick than Evans. Evans, when it comes to Wales, is more reliable I'd say. Charteris blows hot and cold. Evans might have pushed himself out of 2015 if Ball keeps up the form.

Ball is English.

England 23 is as expected: Johnson in for Binny. Matchday 23 not announced yet, but it'll be the same as vs Ireland but Morgan starting Johnson on bench.

I think Evans adds more at scrum time though

Yawn.

@Maverick, perhaps. Charteris is heavier and our scrum usually goes well with him. At least we have chucked Coombs out of the front five.

Wow I didn't think Ian Evans was lighter than charteris ! I know charteris is 30 foot tall but still Ian Evans is a big big guy

Charteris is from Cornwall !!!! And Ian Evans is from Johannesburg !!! ;)

Only joking draggs I don't really care where people are from was just stirring things up :D

No excuses, England will do them even with the injuries - we've ahd three years building and we need to take a real scalp under pressure (i know w've done te AB's and Auss etc... but those games don't compare to whats riding on this).

It's going to be a big game but England will take it, i don't think the scrum dominance will be there in quite the way everyone thinks and i think this midfield can handle Roberts and Davies...

Plus i think England have them tactically, Gatland hasn't changed his tactics much in 7 years (or however long it's been) but lancaster has had very different tactical plans each game - the core is the same but they have mixed it up dependent on the opposition.

Ball is two inches shorter than Ianto, but over half a stone heavier. Ball could probably slim down a bit honestly.

Wales have got their best team out I would say .

I'm gonna get the excuses in now we have lots of injuries etc :D

well that's true in all seriousness, but I feel the only sector that really suffers from that is the scrum for England. They have enough depth that they're still easily a good side on paper and have the coach and culture to play consistent Rugby.

So is Morgan really going to play 80min ?

I'd say they will probably push him for 65-70 and then put Johnson on at 8 . Hopefully we will be well clear by then :/

It's all beard.

More likely that Wood would go to 8, I'd have thought.

However we could well see a backrow of Launchbury, Robshaw, Johnson by the end of the match which is..........an odd one.

Personally I hope not . I think Johnson suits number 8 better than wood . He's a bigger ball carrier . I'd still have preferred them pick Dickinson . But hey ho we are English we don't seem to pick players that makes sense lol (not that Johnson doesn't deserve it tho)

Morgan doesn't have to come off.

Johnson doesn't have to come on.

Typical that Wales pick their tournament-best team to play us. Still glad it's Priestland and not Biggar though.

You confident he can play the full 80 ?

+1

Shouldn't come off unless he's about to pass out - it's pretty lacklustre that he can't last 80 mins at this point in his career.

I think he can last 80, he's just built up a rep for no being fit enough after his first season when, to be fair, he had just stopped being a plumber!

But yeah, Morgan gets the Dan Cole treatment. On until he falls over.
