Thank you for all the results, the two advancers will have to step it up for sure but best of luck to both. I wish all those North American nations could take each other on in a yearly 15's tourney too.

I think top three make it. If that is the case, good job Mexico. Would be cool to see more competition in North America.

In Oceania qualifier this past weekend same time as NACRA, Australia and Tonga qualified. Australia defeated Samoa in the final (Samoa had already qualified based on their standing from previous RWC 7s).

That final tourney is going to be awesome, lucky Russians I'd go to that in a heartbeat.

Sorry haven't updated this in a little bit...
Currently going on the is Asian qualifier...after day 1, 4 teams are left to qualify for three spots. Hong Kong vs. South Korea and Japan vs. Philippines in the Cup semis. Philippines are only nation out of 4 that have never qualified for RWC 7s. The Philippines have called on 8 pro players for this final Asian 7s event although 3 big names playing in Japan were not able to get a release from their club. Nonetheless, it basically is going to come down to Korea vs. Philippines for the last spot and based on for, gotta go Philippines (beat them in Mumbai 7s). Here are the Day 1 results and Day 2 schedule from the Singapore 7s (ARFU qualifier). Credit goes to Quentin from FIRA forums for putting the results together and nice formatting, ARFU does a crap job with results.

To reiterate, the teams will be:

North America: USA, Canada
South America: Argentina
Oceania: New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Samoa, and Tonga.

South American qualifier happens in February. Uruguay are probably the favorites, but Chile and Brazil could challenge.

I love the Irish attitude towards 7's. it's not the winning that matters, or the taking part. It's all about just how apathetic you can be towards this mini game.

I don't understand why Ireland don't put out a team - if the likes of Tunisia and the Phillipines can afford to field a side then surely Ireland, with the much bigger Union, can afford to?
Is it because they're worried they'd be the whipping boys, being new to the circuit against sides that have been there for years?

It's genuinely disinterest. No one in Ireland cares about 7's. Why bother with it when you can play the 15 man game? we already have 4 provinces to develop our players so it's not needed in that regard and the lack of interest means that there's no point putting a team out.
