    URC 2024/2025 - Round 2

Wales Online claimed that Ospreys beating Stormers was the result of the weekend, disregarding Zebre v Munster.

    URC 2024/2025 - Round 2

The lineout was mostly good, but the scrum (as unfortunately expected) was often under pressure from the South Africans, but they found a way of coping in the end.

    URC 2024/2025 - Round 2

When I say "Zebre" you say "Parma". Definitely the result of the week. I watched Ospreys v Stormers - I had a horrible feeling that the Ospreys would yet again give away the game in the final minutes, but their defence this time held out and they even got a last-minute Penalty Try!

    URC 2024/2025 - Round 2

Yeah, Leinster have been (by their standards) surprisingly poor and the Dragons have certainly held their own.

    [2024 TRC] Argentina v South Africa - 21/9/2024

Congratulations to Argentina. For the first time ever, they have won a match against each of their Rugby Championship opponents in the same tournament.

    URC: Round 1

At least all the matches were very close this weekend and hinged onto the last few minutes. Usually there is at least one match that is heavily one-sided each weekend.

    URC: Round 1

And similarly, Scarlets just had to give away that try at the end! Where is the bottle in the Welsh sides?

    URC: Round 1

Trust the Ospreys to lose the game like that! Ffs!

    URC: Round 1

Cardiff won 22-17. They really made hard work of it in the second-half. It would have also helped had Sheedy scored his conversions!

    URC: Round 1

The curse of complacency seems to have hit Cardiff.

    PEDs in rugby

I do wonder sometimes whether people are on the roids or they are just naturally blessed. (Or some combination of both). The runner Harry Aikines claimed he developed pecks as young as 13, and look at him now:

Ospreys announce new home as famous stadium will be transformed

Around 6,000 at the moment, but will most likely hold more after the renovation work is complete.

Ospreys announce new home as famous stadium will be transformed

I am happy about this. For Wales' second city not to have a pro rugby team would be a scandal, and the other option which was Bridgend is just as close to Cardiff as it is to Swansea, and the latter are themselves already pretty close to the Dragons.

Should Welsh pro teams join the English Premiership

All the pro Welsh teams have big enough grounds, which putatively they'd be able to fill more easily in the Premiership than in the URC.

Should Welsh pro teams join the English Premiership

This article argues so. The problem is that English rugby has plenty of issues of its own, so it cannot be said to be in that much of a position to help Wales. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/rugby/rugby-news/wales-must-now-leave-urc-29440807
