as in a XV out of the best premiership players? or what my club's strongest team is?

I'll go with Saracens:

1. Matt Stevens
2. Schalk Brits
3. Carlos Nieto
4. Mauritz Botha
5. Steve Borthwick (c)
6. Jacques Burger
7. Andy Saull
8. Ernst Joubert
9. Richard Wigglesworth
10. Owen Farrell
11. James Short
12. Brad Barritt
13. Chris Wyles
14. David Strettle
15. Alex Goode

16. John Smit/ Jamie George
17. Rhys Gill/ Mako Vunipola
18. Deon Carstens
19. Hugh Vyvyan
20. Kelly Brown
21. Neil de Kock
22. Charlie Hodgson
23. Joe Maddock

Jury's out on Vunipola and George because they're both young with bright futures...

1. Soane Tonga'uiha (Northampton)
2. Schalk Brits (Saracens)
3. Dan Cole (Leicester)
4. Courtney Lawes (Northampton)
5. Steve Borthwick (Saracens)
6. Tom Croft (Leicester)
7. Akapusi Qera (Gloucester)
8. Ernst Joubert (Saracens)
9. Ben Youngs (Leicester)
10. Nick Evans (Harlequins)
11. Alesana Tuilagi (Leicester)
12. Anthony Allen (Leicester)
13. Eliota Fuimaono-Sapolu (Gloucester)
14. Chris Ashton (Northampton)
15. Ben Foden (Northampton)

all come from only 5 clubs but there you go.

well considering the fact that Dickson isn't good enough to play for a team in a Heineken Cup final, he can't really make an Allstars side. Not picking on form, so Youngs it is, even if Simpson's a good shout.

Borthwick is the captain and lead-lineout caller and jumper of the best lineout in the prem. Stats speak for themselves (especially since Brits isn't supposed to be able to throw...)

The rest of Borthwick's game is terrible though - Botha would be a better choice if you wanted a Saracen in there

Day is no slouch in the lineout, I think he was leading the steals count for the majority of the season (if not all of it - can't seem to find the stats on the Aviva site anymore)

yep, and Saints could do far better than Dickson. I'd say the main reason they weren't going to beat Leinster - compare Dickson, Myler, Downey, Clarke to Reddan, Sexton, D'Arcy, O'Driscoll...

In fact according to Joe Simpson's dad, he was offered a contract by Saints. Would have been an excellent move for both player and club, shame he's loyal to Wasps.

Fair call on Day, depends what stats you look at :p still have Borthwick though... but another reason to question how another South African journeyman has jumped above high-performing English players in the national pecking order...

Tom Varndell's try scoring record is pretty handy

11. Strettle
14. Varndell

? :p

Charlie Hodgson at 10, if we're looking at stats - Best kicking in the prem, and most tackles in the Sale team (or top 3 or something - not too shabby when you consider how much of the season he missed :p )

When I first clocked Dickson I'll admit to thinking he was the 2nd coming of Jonny Howard, However seeing the not so obvious things like the speed of service to the backs and the way he marshalled the pack it was clear how vital he is to the team - It's no coincidence that Saints losing streak coincided with his knee injury mis season. Not a flash player (e.g. Care, Youngs or Simpsons sniping runs) but does what he does in the system they impliment better then anyone else (English) in the league, particularly for quick ball.

At his best I think Tagicakibau is better than Tuilagi, but he has been perennially injured for the past two seasons. I could also make a strong case for Hala'Ufia at Number 8. Otherwise agree with most of what is being said...

1 from Sarries

4 fom the Tigers

Robshaw over Croft?
Robshaw's had a cracking season at Quins, whereas Croft has had a decent season at Tigers, but has missed a lot through England call ups and injury

I wouldn't pick Robinson though - Gopperth might be in with a shout for the bench though, pretty much single handedly kept Falcons in the prem
