Richard Skuse has retired from professional rugby with immediate effect.

The tight-head prop suffered a neck injury while playing for the Saracens Storm in November and, after receiving specialist medical advice, was left with no option but to retire.

Skuse, 30, said: “People say there is something special happening at Saracens, and it’s the truth. I am obviously disappointed to be retiring, but the club has been fantastically supportive ever since I arrived in north London, not only on the field but also by inspiring and encouraging me to sign up for courses and prepare for life beyond my playing career.â€

Chairman Nigel Wray said: “Richard has given excellent service to the club, and everybody wishes him well for the future.†:(

No he didn't, the Saracens media man did. Probably Eddie Griffiths. Adulterated, self promoting hyperbole.

Sad news for Skuse though.
