Probably about as good as we can manage atm - would've preferred a 5:3 over a 6:2, and personally probably would've had Davies at 15 instead of Reed, but Reed did well vs Clermont

That one is really good defence tbf

Edit: though is it prevented by a player diving in and swinging his leg into the arm carrying the ball? Not exactly a legal tackle/joining a tackle area, but rules seem to go out the window when the tryline is involved

Aren't both Gloucester players in contact with the try line when they make contact with OHC? Does that not count? If not, when does it count?

Other than that, Glaws have butchered two tries and let in a really soft one, so really only have themselves to blame.

Mad that after the Saracens game we decided against signing injury cover at 15 and instead signed two tiny wingers who don't even make the 23

Struggling to think of reasons to watch the second half, just an absolute garbage performance

I mean there's no question we're in a significantly better position with him in than before he arrived

I won't be knives out for him yet - we've made more playoffs with him than without - but another season like this and maybe

Guessing the thought process is we've been close but no cigar so bring in new coaches and that'll be the thing that gets us over the line, but Bortolami didn't work out, we've lost two defence coaches and as good as Byron is this is only his second season of pro rugby coaching,
Jury out on Ford as a coach, injuries, positional deficiencies and generally playing like muck make it hard to judge attack

I liked the idea of a head coach coming in, it's a shame Bortolami didn't work out - obviously need another big voice/top dog to question some decisions because our recruitment and selection over the last season season or so has been really head scratching (hell, basically his whole reign really - I genuinely think if we didnt pick, or didn't sub on, Ashman in the final a few years back we could've won it)

Shocking performance from Luke Pearce in this game, the difference between how he's reffing both sides is crazy. Varney tried to milk a playing the 9 pen and gets a severe talking to about "trying to buy a penalty", then in the next break in play a similar dressing down and threat about being penalised regarding the same incident. George simulated a head injury yet not only does he not get a talking to, he bought the penalty as well!

In similar fashion Pearce was a pendant regarding an Exeter mark for a free kick, with multiple talkings yet outright ignores Sarries moving WELL off the mark for a penalty kick to touch. Not to mention being adamant over red card foul play blowing early stopping an Exeter try. Clearly he isn't liking the chuffs for some reason. Odd.
