PREM 25/26 - Round 6

Hopefully the removal of relegation will never be ratified.
I enjoy watching professional rugby
Yeah it all just seems a mess doesnt it.

I also believe there's another issue that the Prem want 12 teams but the TV / Media pumping the money in only want 10 because they dont want premiership games to clash with international games.

I've reliably heard that TV bidders are also keen to expand the PREM. The real stumbling block is the RFU consistently moving the goal posts, blocking the likes of Ealing (whilst allowing a club who also doesn't meet the MGC to remain for a bung) - the other, but slightly less problematic thing is the inequality in funding to the newly promoted team. I believe that's changed somewhat behind the scenes now but I haven't seen anything official put out in the media.

Personally I have always believed in a 14 team league. The RFU need replacing too, but that's an even bigger job.

I really like the idea of Relegation and principle it does add excitement to the bottom of the table.

The main issue is that the money and by that i mean that the championship isn't making much at all, no real tv deal and is essentially same teams going up and down.

Being a Chiefs fan I obv dont discount the importance of it, we fort through and got to the top. I don't want to deprive teams of that, but I also dont want the same teams to yoyo up and down and just not bring alot.

We need RFU investment making a strong second league, promortionate shared tv rights to get them funds to buy players to make them good enough to compete and be sustainable. Without investment they won't improve, without improving they won't get any chance of a tv deal therefore I dony see much sustainability in it.
