[2025 TRC] South Africa v Australia - 16/8/2025

If any of you have access to a time machine please tell me a few hours ago to renew my Now TV subscription.

SA threw the kitchen sink at Aus first 20, and it looks like it effected them ongoing.

Until late on though, the SA packed looked like they still had control, but everytime the SA backline were asked to defend they fell to peices...

I was worried about the half back pairing pre game, they were good with an armchair ride, but Libbock especially just hasn't got the heart for international defending, Willemse was no better.

Rassie gotta take some heat for those changes, front row on too long, 59 mins they werent in the game for 10 mins.

JOC cant kick out of hand, and offloaded panicked, but given a bit of time and space he can spray a pass fair play.

Thank God Nick White didnt.start very lions, I think hed have been a game changer.

Congratulations Australia. Not many saw that coming, not many go to Ellis Park and come away with a win.

Bit of hubris kicked in for the Boks.

This makes the British and Irish Lions the best rugby team in the world that ever played the game.

Na seriously...I'm not making any more jokes about the quality of Lions2025, nor will I question Andy Farrell coz this shows how good he is as a coach and puts the Lions win into sharp perspective.

Australia even gave South Africa a 22pt lead to make the game a challenge, and they were playing at altitude, but they still came bk to give SA a beating on their home patch....WOW

And AUS beat South Africa the way you want to see rugby. They hammered them in open play. Skilful, fast, and highly enterprising. Superb.

When was last Aus win in SA ? Have to look on wiki, but must have been a while.

Libbok has no control. We have seen it for years.

He can’t just take a game by the scruff of the neck and control it.

The intercept was an absolute back breaker.

Exactly the reasons why for all the talk about who will be number 10 at the World Cup and at Eden Park, it will clearly be Pollard.
