Presumably all the international coaches see something that we don't (and I think Smith is a fantastic player) but he's a couple of years of regular play at 15 from being a full back.

I think they see the potential for him there (as do I), and really want to make it happen (as do I).
He "just" needs 20-30 matches playing there, preferably in a relatively short period of time.
IMO, Fullback is his position of best fit - he'll just never get the game time in that position to be comfortable there.

IMO, Fullback is his position of best fit - he'll just never get the game time in that position to be comfortable there.

He does have the attributes, speed, ability, ball playing, decent in the air etc...

Ringrose has been excellent, and starts with Tuipilotu for me (I know I know, stupid idea).

Tuipolotu plays the ball playing role so much better than Aki, and that's what Farrell wants clearly. I'd understand selecting Jones over Ringrose for partnership reasons, but Ringrose is the better player, he's been awesome!

Morgan imo should be starting 7, but VDF has done nothing better than Chessum to show he should be starting g ahead on the wings. Chessum also has a line out option

I'd say start Ringrose in the first test with Tuipolotu as he's been very good so far, and if that doesn't work, put Jones back in for that familiarity.

This is actually a really in depth point, he plays on his toes, and looks like he drifts up field sniffing a turn over and a shoot to the attacking line to counter.
