Best:

Jonah Lomu stomping Mike Catt into the ground was simply awesome and it's my favourite to this day.

Worst:

Sterling Mortlocks intercept try in 2003 when we were dominating the game and after such an intense 5 years rivalry with an excellent Australian team (they had held the Bledisloe for 5 years) and George Gregan giving us the 4 more years to our faces.

Close 2nd France's forward pass try in 2007.

Best moment -:
Paul Thorburn penalty V Oz to give Wales 3rd in 1987.
Zinzan Brooks drop goal V England 1995.
Tuidiaki Japan winger scoring V Wales and the Japanese fans next to me going wild shouting Georgie Best (Tuidaki's nickname) 1999
Wales 1/4 final win V Ireland 2011.
Nalu Tau lamping Richard Hill in 1999.

Worst moments -:

Max Brito's injury playing for the Ivory Coast in 1995.
Wales battered and beaten by Western Samoa on my bloody birthday in 1991.

Best the crowd scenes after the Match in the stadium and in Sydney after the 2003 English victory!

Worst watching the South Africans doing the same all the way back to central Paris!!!

Best: Obviously the Drop Goal (note the capitals). Although I also really enjoyed the Weepu and Donald storyline at the last one. I'm a sucker for an underdog coming good.

Worst: Cueto.

Worst: QF 1999 - SA dominate England.

Best: semi-final 2007 - Lewsey try, was watching it with a bunch of great friends, had just met my wife it was her first Rugby match, and the entire French contingent who were watching it with us went quiet and moved to another part of the bar. :)

My worst too. It was my 15th birthday, on a French exchange where the family barely acknowledged it and arranged a trip to another city so I didn't see my school friends, or indeed anyone who spoke English, for the entire day. Then I heard that England had been smashed. Then I heard that Jeremy Guscott, my childhood hero, had announced his retirement. Seriously ****ty day.

Best is obviously 2003, although the memory which really sticks out is Robinson's try rather than the dropgoal, strangely. Rob Andrew's DG to beat the Aussies in 1995 also stands out, as that was the first WC I was old enough to be emotionally invested in. I cried in the toilets after it went over.

Best: Going to my first and only match, Ireland v France 2007.

Worst: Going to my first and only match, Ireland v France 2007.

Best: Mike Phillips' try vs Ireland in 2011. France vs NZ in 1999, superb game of rugby.

Worst: 2003 Final. Ruined my 15th birthday that did. 2007 v Fiji

Best: Looking down the squad list shortly afterwards and realising how many of the players would still be around for the 2003 World Cup!

i honestly felt lied to after that game, i belived we could do great things but we were utterly awful that night - and this is my worry this time around.

Funny old game, I was quite the opposite. The way the game panned out, I was able to shrug my shoulders and put down the loss as one of those things. That side was as you say starting to achieve impressive things, but I don't remember thinking that it was anywhere near the finished article, at the time it lacked a fair bit of experience and contained some so so players in some positions. Maybe it sounds like 20/20 hindsight, but I can still picture the RWC supplement that I looked through when I thought that I could take heart and cross my fingers for the next World Cup.

yeah i think that's fair enough - i also think one of my grievances is that we got completely outplayed by what i recall being a very average South Africa team... that galled a bit.

It certainly wasn't the developed side it was portrayed to be, and i think that's the first time i thought to myself "you believed all that hype" - if that makes sense.

Haha the worst ones are easy to remember! - Basically anytime we haven't won the RWC (though '07, and '95) stick out as the worse ones due to circumstances.
Says a lot about us Kiwis that we dwell on the losses and not the wins!

Best moments
Easy No1 - Abs v England in '95. A win by a team (including one very special player) that helped put rugby in the world spotlight.
Other great moments:
Tonga beating France in '11
Ireland beating Australia in '11
Samoa almost (and should have) rolling SA in '11.
Fiji almost rolling France in (?)'99
Samoa defeating Wales in '91

Best:
Stirling Mortlock's intercept try RWC 2003 Semi
Steven Larkham Drop goal in 1999 RWC Semi to sink SA
Wallabies beating France to win RWC 1999

Worst:
Rob Andrew drop goal to sink us in 1995 RWC
Jonny Wlkinson drop goal to sink us in 2003 RWC

Best: Funnily enough probably the pool stages of the 1999 Rugby World Cup. Had a team full of my childhood heroes.

Worst: The last 10 minutes of the 2007 Rugby World Cup. Was simply the worst I'd felt over a sporting match, had to go outside to punch the ground haha.

Best: Mike Phillips' try vs Ireland in 2011. France vs NZ in 1999, superb game of rugby.

Worst: 2003 Final. Ruined my 15th birthday that did. 2007 v Fiji

That would have been on my list had I watched it. I and several mates watched a video of Ponty beating Neath in the SWALEC cup final of 1996 instead.

Best: the 1987 RWC was pretty special; seeing test sides playing against each other on neutral ground was pretty cool.

Seeing Richard Tsimba dive for that try for Zimbabwe against Romania ... The Fijians running with the ball in one hand against France.

The worst: all the excuses and nastiness that comes when teams get knocked out of the tournament
