Which TOP 14 match when in Lyon ?

Hi

Got a taste of Top 14 after a great weekend in Toulouse this time last year.
this year a gang of us are heading to Lyon at the end of Nov to take in one of the following games -

Bourgoin vs Montpellier (40 mins from Lyon)
Clermont vs Biarritz (3 hours from Lyon)

The Bourgoin game is the handiest travel wise but the other game could be a top of the table tie !
Obviously tickets could be an issue - I see ASM are getting nearly full houses for home games.
To be honest, all we are looking for is a good atmosphere, entertaining rugby and a few beers afterwards.

All comments appreciated !

Clermont Biarritz sounds like the better option and given that there's tickets available for the Paris game at the end of the month you should be able to get tickets for the Biarritz match, just keep an eye on Clermont's website for availability, the only issue is that you'll probably have to get them delivered to a French address, if you could do that you'd be sorted.

Actually scrap that last bit, it seems you can print the tickets yourself.

Bougoin are to host 4 or 5 matches at larger venues in the Top 14 this season. At the start of the season they had serious economic issues and recently agreed to relocate some games to help bring in more money. So far one match has been relocaed to Grenoble. It was vs Perpignan if I remember correctly. Last season it was vs Stade Francais there. Lyon and St. Ettiene are likely to host a game or two each. The question is which game and against who? Probably Stade Francais, Biarritz, Toulouse or Clermont.

Nothing has been announced yet beyond this.

The earliest, I believe, is in February when Bourgoin host Stade Francais.

Not local but you could go to France vs Samoa in Paris / France vs South Africa in Toulouse / France vs New Zealand in Marseilles in November?

Thanks for your replies.
Nov 20/21 are the only dates that suit us and we have flights already booked to Lyon.
I have discussed it with the lads and while we accept the Clermont game is more attractive we dont fancy the 3 hour train journey so looks like it's Bourgoin vs Montpellier. Has anyone been to the Stade Pierre Rajone ? - could do with advice on best seats, bars etc.
Thanks.

Lyon is in ProD2, on the week-end of the 21st of November, they play Narbonne. These two teams are among the best ProD2 teams this season, they are both contenders to promotion to Top14.

Pierre Rajon is a great place for rugby, great atmosphere.
If lucky enough (do not the exact schedule), but you could make it two.

Lyon is currently sitting third in pro D2 and playing Narbonne on the 21st November (Narbonne is top of the table in pro D2).
As things stand you would have the 1st vs 3rd of pro D2 in Lyon and you may have enough time to go to watch Bourgoin, depending on kick of time.
Youc can go from LOU stadium to bourgoin is about 30/40 minutes.

Thankyou very much for your replies.
That would be brilliant if we could take in the 2 games - the Lou / Narbonne game does not seem to have been confirmed as yet.
The Bourgoin / Montpellier game is fixed for 230pm on Sat 21st.
Just in relation to tickets - we were considering the â'¬28 ones which are EST CENTRE Category 4.
I assume these tickets are ok ?
Does it make any difference if we buy from the club website, Francebillet or Ticketnet ?
I might come back to you nearer the time re bars and restaurants for before and after match.

Thanks again
