Ok, Apperently New Zealand are THE best rugby union team in the world. To be fair there an excellent team but why is it that they havent won the world cup in 20 years! :huh:

Funny, all of the first three posts are UK. It matters more to the NH than to anyone else.
Such a simple question to answer. It's a knock-out tourney. ANY team in the world can lose a one-off game. If the world cup was a straight league instead of pools then knock-out, New Zealand would've won almost if not every world cup.
A league is a far more consistent gauge of talent than knock-out. That's why the world cup doesn't reflect anything about All Black talent.
Mind you everything I say is redundant as according to RC who posted earlier,

Why don't you share some ideas on why you think they haven't won the RWC?

I've come to the train of thought that maybe its not NZ that faulters at all. The other teams that have underperformed finally pull their finger out and perform for once when they're at the RWC.

Why is it that Ireland haven't beaten us once in a 100 years?
The 74.1% All Time winning percentage, and the 42 wins out of 48 games over the past 4 years have something do with it... and then there's the fact the All Blacks have a winning record against every test team they have faced (their lowest being 55.6% against the Springboks).

The most important question to answer here is why the f*** are you even bothering to respond. Its a blatant wind up from a member who wont be seen again, and hasnt even backed up his point with anything worth discussing.
Half the planet will call you chokers, not because were right, but because it makes it easier for us to deal with the constant beatings you hand out to the rest of us. You know it, we know it, but the beauty of the whole "choker" discussion is, we'll always win it. There are more of us, and we dont need logic, we just keep shouting louder and louder until you give up and **** off.
The facts are thought, while they had a tough draw in this years WC, they should have beaten France in that quarter final. In the same way ireland should have put 50 points past Namibia and Georgia. At least Ireland are lucky enough to have a coach that acknowledges ................. well acknowledges that ................. hmmm he didnt do anything wrong, neither did the players, it was all just ...........eh ................. weird. :unsure:

Yes, I will always remember 1950 and the Maracanazo. Could Brazil stay winless at the Football World Cup for the first 28 World Cup years and yet be considered the best team in the world? B)
Then I think there's some reason to call the only once World Cup winners All Blacks the best team in the World. Even if they have not won for the last 20 years the Webb Ellis Cup. :cheers:

I live in Fiji and apart from the Flying Fijians, i support the AB's. We hear many stories about a curse that was put on all AB team that will ever take part in the world cup.. one tries to ignore them, but then again?!!
I think they were too prepared (re-conditioning, skipping half of super 14 etc)

I think there's just way too much pressure for the All Blacks to try win the Rugby World Cup and so the players don't really go into games with the right frame of mind. Instead of trying to win I think they're more trying not to lose if that makes any sense.
What I mean is whenever I bring up the world cup to anyone they say 'Oh stupid All Blacks they lost the world cup' instead of saying something like 'Oh stupid All Blacks they couldn't win the world cup' you know what I mean it's like we think we've won it before it even starts.

no excuses the scoreboard tells the final story everytime. ultimately the world cup is the biggest prize to win in rugby and it hurts that the all blacks haven't won it a few more times. it would be worse if they lost outside of world cups too but thankfully the abs seem to peform rather well outside of the world cups which does ease the pain a bit.

So yeah, NZ are the guys to beat. No one has played true test rugby until they have played the All Blacks, which is another reason i think the Super14 is the tournament to win, I dont think a tournament won without the Godfathers of rugby participating is really the ultimate tournament. . .
