As the ***le says, what local club(s) do you play for and what position.

I started at Colne and Nelson RUFC in Lancashire playing centre and wing at the age of 12 and stayed until I was 22. I joined the army and moved around quite a bit, still playing for my regiment.

I now have lived in Catterick for 3 years and started playing for my local club Richmondshire RUFC in north Yorkshire last year, playing Outside Centre.
Pre season training starts next week and can't wait to get back into it.

My regiment is also starting to play Union again which will be great, two teams on the go at once can only be a good thing!

Even though I haven't played for my home club coming up 3 years (only odd games) I would still say I play for Ballynahinch RFC. An All Ireland Division One side. We have 7 senior sides and I can proudly say I've played for all 7 teams.

I play back row and lock. I started at my local high school and went on to represent County Down in the Ulster county championship and Northern Ireland 7s team. After an injury playing for Hinch I took of the chance to play in New Zealand. Were I played in Southland for Marist. After NZ I decided to get my life in order and go to Uni here in wonderful Wales. I played one year of University rugby with Glamorgan and can soundly say I shall never return to that mess of a team.

Also looking forward to some gym work and pre-season back with Hinch before Uni. Hopefully going to join Division One East side Bargoed RFC next season and God willing have a over due good season after this years mess.

Currently at a crossroads myself played for Gorey RFC since I was about 5 approaching my 14th season of rugby next year..However I am a month overage to play club rugby with the u-19's next year and am currently wondering what to do with myself.

Off to Uni in Dublin next year (depending how the next week or so goes) and am wondering as opposed to fighting for a place in my Club teams back row (probably the only decent unit in the squad) should I ply my trade with a 21's team up there and wait a wee while to get bigger before playing adult level down here in the sticks.

At 1.79m and 12 stone I am not exactly the most powerful unit going but I am still growing (from what I can gather) and with this summer being a complete write off in terms of training (due sad fact I will be inebriated for most of it) I am not expecting to fill out a huge amount.

However the standard of rugby that the men are playing isn't exactly top notch and the couple of games I've played I have ran in a few tries and put in a couple of hits that impressed the old management but with a new coaching team on board this year I feel I am starting back from square one again.

My auld fella is the 2012 president also and should I actually get onto the starting team through merit I would worry about people thinking that some form of nepotism is taking place which would **** me off no end.

Really I would love to stick around with my club but really the thoughts of playing second string rugby and maybe only getting a handful of games a year with the firsts is quite a push factor unfortunately.

Having played a year on the south east development squad back in the day and a wee bit with Leinster "A" schools but never really shining at either stage I would not exactly be a player out of the top drawer but I reckon I could hold my own in the big smoke on a 21's club side.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

edit: forgot to add I play openside and blindside primarily and I dabble at scrumhalf when the need arises

I played school rugby at Ipswich Grammar School from 2003 - 2008 where I played with and against many fantastic players with Rod Davies, Junior Sau, Albert Anae and Langi Setu all being there when I played, while Nic Berry and Berrick Barnes left in 2002 when I was in the Junior school.
I currently play Halfback, Flyhalf, Wing, Fullback and Flanker for Ipswich Rangers but this will be my last season with them as I will be moving to a premiership club in Queensland next year, I wanted to stay with Rangers but this year has been a terrible year and I feel a move to a different club will do me good.

I play for Johnsonville Colts Rugby but I don't really get along with the coaches anymore as they are hipocritical and incompotant. Thinking of playing for OBU next season, or play for the senior teams unless, the Colts get new coaches. My Johnsonville team has been demoted to third devision, which is just embarrasing, and yet our coaches never seem to look at fixing any of our problems, we just do the same old drills we've been doing all season, with no hope of improving and then they pick players who don't turn up to training at all in the starting XV. It's a shambles. I've even played several game with the social team "Johsonville Cripples" just cause I hate the coaches. Last year my U19 team had several players picked in the Wellington U19 squad, this year I doubt there will be anyone.

I hear Ranger plays for a pretty good team and goes to a pretty awesome school, maybe you should look into it?

He goes to the same Uni as me, so if I was going to move it'd probably be to OBU.

Play for one of the 2 under age clubs in Singapore, started playing for them after I moved here about 4 years ago. The rugby set up here is odd due to the lack of popularity and players so that means underage there are 2 clubs but all the international schools have teams for part of the year so I play for them to. Also there was a team set up which is supposed to be the best in Singapore and then we go and tour other counties such as HK and Australia. I play 2nd row and Number 8.

I play for Park House 2s on account of hating fitness work and pretty much never going to the gym. Our firsts will have the joyous experience of facing the gougy people of Maidstone next year.

I would describe myself as a utility player.

I play loosehead for the St Paul Pigs, a team in Minnesota.

I wish I had a team around here when I was a youngster. I didn't get started until I was 20 years old and my college decided to form a team. I'm 35 now and running out of time.

i played for malahide rfc from age 5-16 then stopped club rugby so i could play for belvedere college my school at the time.
i was on the senior cup team that won the cup in 08 then took an offer to play for northampton old scouts rfc instead of leinster academy last year i came back to ireland and i play centre or wing for old belvedere who are in A.I.L division 1a.

There's a fella in our 3s still turning out at about 60. Plenty of time left for you.

I play for worcester rfc for 1 season because i only started club rugby last year. I play backrow 6/7 defo not 8. Sadly pre season is a long way away for me nd i cant wait for next year nd i cant wait for county trials :)

Not at the A side level. The young pups are starting to catch up to me. For the first time in 7 or 8 years, I've actually had to work to keep my spot in the first XV.

U never goin to be in the A's forever maby the B's will be good for u so u can prove why u shud be in the A's for the time being

Cheers for the replies guys, it's good to get a handle on what level and position people play, I must say majority forwards so far! I must be representing the good old backs!

I play backs. Wing and fullback mostly. But as I've started taking interest in competitive rowing so my new found upper body strength may be found useful elsewhere on the field. As for my club, I play for a recently established Iveragh Eagles RFC. A club of approximately 60 members. It's nice to be part of a small club as it means you get plenty of field time. Also hopefully, looking foreword to the club's growth and development over the next few years and being able to look back at having been there at the start.

Yes, I can imagine 10 years from now when Iveragh Eagles beat Toulouse in a heineken cup final, you can think to yourself ''I've been here from the start my blood sweat and tears have transformed the people of the cake shop(see location^^) from avid Gaelic Footballers to the european champions we are today''.

Formerly Prop and then Second row and Cobham RFC before moving to Wimbledon RFC, began playing prop before moving between pretty much every position on the pitch before ending up at inside centre/outside centre/wing.
