Wasps have supposedly sold 17,000 tickets for the LI clash.

Worth noting:
Tickets for Wasps first match are available from just £15. Entrance for under ten year olds is free if accompanied by a paying adult. Coventry Passport for Leisure and Learning cardholders can purchase tickets for just £8.

and

The 17,000 tickets includes Wasps Season Ticket Holders and the 3,500 free tickets distributed for this game to Coventry schools and rugby clubs as part of Wasps community initiative with Coventry Sports Foundation, Coventry Sports Network and Warwickshire RFU.

There will have to be lots of deals and enticements to begin with. Hopefully even a part of the newly enticed crowd become regulars over time.

They sold 30k for "The Stinger".

Seen one (seems to be a Wasps fan) say 12k were freebies.

it says 3500 were freebies, plus you have parents + child tickets.

What is it, one adult and 8499 kids? :)

Not surprised, Coventry has been a popular rugby spot historically. Coventry RFC are an old established side that got hit by the game going pro. Also remember playing against Barkers Butts RFC on a tour match. They kicked our butts and my chin.

And doesn't each player get like 4 tickets each so that is like 8000.

that can't be right (gets out calculator) :)

yeah, that makes sense. I'm quite impressed with that for a pool game - fair enough it's the pool decider but even so.

because we abandoned our west london roots in the name of money - and also because people think it's a front to get the ricoh then cut wasps loose.

yeah, north west - but for me coming from east that's all just west, also known as Australia.

That is so correct! Nothing to do with fact that had they not moved they would have been bankrupt nor that the acquisition of the Ricoh had naff all to do with Wasps other than the revenue their games have and will continue to provide I guess?

Must say I would prefer Biarritz to move to Bordeaux, being a greater distance, than have them disappear as a club into bankruptcy myself!
