Try on the Year award

1. Barnes - no, average try, don't know why this is included.
2. Byrne - good try but not incredible
3. Camacho - great try but a hint of a forward pass
4. Fourie - good try, but only for the finish and its importance. Nothing too special otherwise.
5. Harinordoquy - beautiful try.
6. Heaslip - great individual try from a No 8 but not too incredible
7. Heymans - world class, individual try of the season.
8. Kearney - good try thanks to Jones' hands..
9. Nonu - great try but helped by poor tackling
10. Ross - good
11. Williams (1) - outstanding chip, chase and hands from Flutey and wonderful support from Shane. Magic.
12. Yanyushkin - great try, although a lot of the ground made came from missed tackles
13. Clerc - classic French try
14. Williams (2) - great pace through a massive gap
15. Muliaina - wonderful counterattacking try.

I'd say the top 3 has to be between Harinordoquy, Heymans and Williams (1).

Some great tries. The game 7th Feb between FRA & IRE looks epic from the looks of those two great tries finished by the two no.8's. Heymans against NZ and the try created by Flutey were scored from nothing but I have to give it to Jacque Fourie who also had a lot to do after some good work simply because it sealed the series for SA with precious little left to go in the 2nd test which was a great game of rugby.

So for individual brilliance: Heymans honorable mention to Flutey although Williams scored for Lions

Team try: Imanol for France against Ireland with Heaslip a close second after good work from rest of IRE

Great (finish, occasion & importance): Fourie against Lions

Hard to pick between these 5 IMO

I can't remember which rugby forum I saw it on, but some Kiwi poster posted something along the lines of "That Heymans try would give Christian Cullen a stiffy"

Great try, deserves to win it.

All great tries but man that Heymans try is something special. Not often has a guy given a cold to Jane, Muliaina and Rokocoko all by himself

I'll send you a link of the highlights if you want. I think the french 1st try was better than either of those two to be honest.

Try that and see if it works

BOD's try from that game for a solo effort was probably as good as some of the trys nominated too.

No nomination for JDV's intercept try against the All Blacks? :cryy: LOL

Strange to see no nomination for an English try...wonder why that can be...probably scored so many tries this season that they just couldn't choose one

Heymans to win

We scored the most (16) in the 6N, and got a couple over the summer

Thanks in no small part to Nick Mallet's experiment and every French player having a cup of tea instead of tackleing.

yep. fantastic timing of the run, great angle, and great step of the fullback. As he scored, he shouted 'I'm still BOD the best centre of the decade even if people like gingergenius think I'm past it'.

You weren't the only one saying he was past it, record sales of Humble pie in Ireland last February.

Tx, that rivals the Currie cup final! I really should get DSTV instead of watching highlights over the internet.
