I think this is a bit of old news, but I found it interesting that when they sought to build the toughest, most durable mobile device that could survive and perform in the harshest conditions they named it after our grand old game: SAMSUNG RUGBY.

Yeah, it sounds cool.
I remember Nokia having a similar device some years ago, waterproof, shockproof etc...
It just seems a strange angle as most mobile phone producers are aiming on smart phones, touch screen to get their profit in.

Well, a smartphone doesn't have a long life on a construction site. Look at it from a business owners perspective. Having a durable phone for your employees that has walkie talkie, etc... When I was an outside sales rep we had phones similar (not as resiliant) because I was on and off construction sites, dealing with people who needed quick responses. All the installers had my walkie talkie number and would literally just beep me with quick questions. This sort of product is actually ideal for a specific market, which in reality is quite a large market.

Charles, I too dig the yellow.

That doesn't look too shabby. Most of the other "super strength" type ones are basically just a rubber brick,
It's strange that it's a flip phone, must make it a bit weaker than it could be. I know a couple of people who are farmers and they've got the JCB ones which can (as the name suggests) be run over by a jcb and still work:

Aw, I was kinda expecting it to be called the Samsung TRF or something along those lines.... Alas, I suppose 'rugby' is betterthan nothing.

In my time off being injured with my knee I wanted to update my phone! I brought An Apple iPhone 3GS and I have to say I love it!! I don't think it will be very durable if dropped but its a nice phone!!

I got the i phone 3GS it's fairly durable but if you drop i from like you hand on to concert good bye screen, i should know due to a rugby ball related accident.

Do u guys know where the Rugby 08 Mods are??
In the Rugby 08 Mods sectiong...
Scroll down the main page to the gaming part, and then click the HB Studios Rugby Series part, then they'll be in there

I've got an Android phone, because they're better than iPhones ;)

I really like the JCB one, and I just have a basic Samsung for which I paid £20. :)
