I figured you guys would enjoy this information and the videos.

Honestly, I'm just sick of this type of weather after so many damn days in a row and then ending with the worst one so far. You just think that you're lucky you didn't lose your home .. again and again and again, so on and so forth.

This is the ******* that hit us today.

This is how close it was. The small red circle is my home town, the big red circle is the location where the videos were filmed and the approx path of the tornado at the time.

i remember when i lived in cincinnati a tornado passed 1 mile from my house

i remember hearing the sirens but i didnt think anything of them i thought they were police sirens... i was pretty young and it was the middle of the night but still it was scary how close it was the next morning.. i just remember a few of my friends houses had gotten hit and had damage!

it was an F4 tornado by the way..

Yeah that's crazy there, DC. I've been through a few of them now and I'm just getting sick of it. I feel bad for the people who are hurt, either physically or mentally, from the experiences. In any case, more storms are on the way tonight, so it looks like four out of five days straight with nasty weather. I just hope one doesn't come so close this time around.

M Two, did you record that in those clips? I'd love the experience of watching a tornado (from a fairly safe distance like in those clips), it just seems unreal and amazing.
Do all homes in "tornado alleys" (I think that's what they're called) have underground shelters like you see in the movies? It would be very unsafe for anyone in the vicinity to be completely vulnerable when this occurs. It must be a horrible experience for those who suffer because of it.

not really underground shelters like the ones where you open the two slanted doors and walk down.. well maybe in the true midwest farm towns.. however most homes do have a standard basement level beneath the house itself.

Most people don't have basements here as far as I know. I don't, that's for sure. I just go into the bathroom when I see a tornado and hope my family and I aren't killed or lose our home. That's the best I can do.

As for the videos, I didn't personally record them, but I've seen my fair share. Now that I have a camera though, I would be able to take photos and record video as well. Hopefully I don't get a second opportunity so close to home though!
