Defending Heineken Cup champions Toulouse are set to sign ProD2 top try scorer Timoci Matanavou.

The Fijian winger has scored 10 tries in 17 outings for Mont-de-Marsan so far this season.

However he has agreed a two-year deal to team up with compatriots Vilimoni Delasau and Rupeni Caucaunibuca at Toulouse in the summer.

It can only be good to get 3 backs who could potentially play together in the 2011 RWC, some game time together.

For the reserves perhaps: With Clerc, Heymans, Medard, Fritz, Poitrenaud and some bloke named Jouzion in the squad, first team games won't be easy pickings for them.

Good call, but I guess it couldn't hurt training together, it's still a few months they can use to jell. I can't see Caucau or Matanavou starting for Fiji in honesty, with Nalaga, Bobo and Vulivuli all looking in good form.

I wouldn't say that Matanavou has been signed as a reserve, he was given the award of best player in ProD2 last season and Toulon, Biarritz and Toulouse were fighting over him, he scored 19 tries in 25 starts last season for Mont-de-Marsan

on French rugby forums many have him starting with Clerc on the other wing and Médard at full back

Toulouse normally rotate their team so he will get games for sure (especially with Heymans and Delasau departing) and I think could take people who haven't researched him by surprise next season
