It is with great regret that I have to announce that the arrangements to hold the Biarritz v Bayonne, on Sunday next in San Sebastian have now been cancelled and it will be held in Biarritz due to the apathy of the supporters of both sides who refused to buy enough tickets thereby registering their disapproval (AGAIN) of moving Top 14 games!

Cracking round this weekend with top games at Clermont, Toulouse and Montpellier with the derby at Biarritz to conclude proceedings on Sunday night....I think that Racing could be the only away winner but there again, can Toulouse hold Toulon off.....I don't think they can!!

It is weekends like this that makes the Top 14 ..............................

With a TOTAL budget of 4.3m EURO last season and 6.3m (an incredible increase of 50%) it is hardly surprising and you wonder how much these guys are being paid.....how does this compare to Connaught or Exeter?
 
Mike Phillips and Cédric Heymans have been excluded from the Bayonne group for disciplinary reasons.
 
According to reports Mike Phillips has been suspended for an excessive nightclubbing whilst Cédric Heymans has been suspended for criticising the Bayonne fans in a press conference for booing the side after their 35-6 thrashing at home to Toulouse.

What a game in Clermont, last second drop goal won it for ASM who were down 22-10 at one point. One of the best matches so far, I think a draw would be fair to both teams.
 
Toulon have thrown the towel in with their undefeated record by selecting this largely reserve side to face Toulouse's strongest side away.

 
The reason Toulon have picked a slighty weakened team is they gave 18 first choice players a weeks holiday a bet with Laporte and and the Toulon president that if they won their first 6 games they would get a weeks holiday and most teams would not mind a second string of that quality!!!
They will still give Toulouse a good run for thier money, you need to have a look at the bench also second string Internationals, if there is such a thing.
 
That's still a very very strong side.
However is that Nick Kennedy as in the London Irish lock playing 7?!
 
He's playing 8. French newspapers give the teams 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 which doesn't make sense and makes people with any sort of logical thinking be confused.

It'd make more sense if they were consistent and made it 11, 15, 14 as well then.
 
Is this Gethin Jenkins first start of the season? Don't think many would've have thought Sheridan would be preferred to him!


Toulon not looking great at the moment.
Despite the weather both sides are still looking to play, which is good, but the ball is slipping around a bit.

I've heard that Gethin Jenkins is struggling in the scrum in France, and they are preferring Sheridan.

Should Wales be concerned that Jenkins is been seen as a reserve there? Or could it be a blessing in disguise, meaning he hasn't been slogging it out for 80 minutes each week in the Top 14 and could be fresh for Wales' matches.

Also he has seemed like he has put a bit of weight on in France (see pic below), could this hurt his main strength:mobility ?
