The Cameramen!!.. For months SkySport were building up to the World Cup with these "Get Match Fit" cameraman adverts. And all throughout the tournament I've had myself screaming, "C'mon cameramen, effing not even match fit!"
At some points the camera's are looking at the crowd before a lineout and stay there too darn long. Or in the SA vs Aus semi they kept panning to that stupid looking little Wallabie soft toy, like WTF?!?! I'm wanting to watch the rugby, not see how cool you think you are at positioning a effing soft toy with the Wallaby bench in the background and to make it worse, this happened during play!!!...

And not just them, the darn SpiderCam get's on my nerves. It's effing ridiculous. Well no, I mean the person controlling it is effing ridiculous. Especially when they show the eagle eye view on top of the scrums, then the ball get's passed out and it stays on the spidercam for too long. When it cuts to the sideview the ball is close to the next breakdown around midfield. It ****** me off.

What's wrong with the regular side view and close side view. Chop and changing between these views is all rugby needs imo.

I would have been happy if the camera man stayed on Mills for a while as he was awarded his cap and speech for 100 tests

Yeah that was quite sad, I don't know why they couldn't do both the speech/presentation and the post-match interviews at seperate times!.. Quite pathetic really.

The spider cam hovering over the scrum is just stupid, it's not the natural view and you can't really get an idea of who's winning the scrum battle. The only thing it should be used for is showing the Haka face on which looks sooo much better. They didnt do this till the quarter final, all the other games the camera man just stayed on a close up of Williams with the odd wide shot thrown in.

Yeah I agree completely with the haka view. It took alot away from the haka as well.

It's not the camera operators fault, they are trying to find the best shot, it's the directors issue not issuing cut notifications in time.

You're correct!. But when it comes to things like getting shots of a darn soft toy on the side of the field, that's the cameramans fault.

Yep, but they will be told by the Director what to look for, then it's the directors choice what is broadcast from the 30 or so camera's on the field...

Ok. So the directors need a good tune up then.... Sorry cameramen... :)

There were some more shocking examples of poor camera work today in the Wales v France game. They didn't catch Alain Rolland give the red card, so i thought he'd got away without getting a yellow, then they show a shot of Sam on the bench so I thought ahh he did get a yellow, then the commentator realised he had a red!

Pathetic work, one of the most pivotal and controversial moments in the tournament and the cameras miss it.

As already stated - it's the Directors that make the choice to cut to different scenes. And unfortunately Sky Tv NZ has some poor television directors for live programming.

Most AB's games in NZ, NZ warriors, NZ breakers, Wellington Phoenix etc...some of us are use to it.

Doesn't beat going to the games tho. 3D and HD.

Man I just absolutely dislike that Spidercam man. It's just shocking.

I get nauseous every time they show the spidercam swaying over the scrums, the way it shakes back and forth is worse than hand held camera. I wouldn't mind it if they used it for replays or to show an aerial view of the field while play had stopped

lol cmon the spider cam is brilliant..... the views it offers can never be replicated any other way....its views on scrums is great but its the views of shots at goal where I think it shines......I've been very impressed with the camera work during the tourney.
