What happened to a good old ****-up? These hazing ritual style things **** me off something cronic. It's a very American style thing (or so it appears from films and tv). Who the f**k would be willing to do that? And why would they want to play in a team full of such obvious wa**ers? Disgusting....

Apparently the Union team at Aberystwyth Uni is pretty bad for initiations as well, one guy i know said that he was supposed to down puke, ****, jizz and cat food.
I've also heard tell of licking someones genital wart (though that could just be hear say...). Alot people on the League team are union players who didn't want to go through that to play

I do agree that it's disgusting, but if I had gone and been in that situation I probably would have gone along with it. It's all the pressure of being with the rugby lads and going out to impress, however stupid that sounds. One social I went on a couple of months ago I was made to suck 3 tampons dry of beer then down the 3 pints they had been put in, one after the other. I knew it was stupid, but didn't want to look like a pussy so I did it. Meh!
From what I hear, our Engin initiation was like a scene out of a Beatrix Potter novel compared to some other Cardiff Uni teams.

I personally have never been willing to give into pier pressure. I don't even allow people to force me to down a pint! I was tempted to join the rugby team here in Lincoln uni (didn't end up having the time to do so), but if they tried to make me do something like this (I've heard they have quite a few initiations) I'd be out of there straight away. I'm not quite sure where this whole curture of acting like idiot has come from in rugby (especially in Wales). As I said, having a **** up is fine, but even then forcing people to down pint after pint is again stupid and something I don't enjoy doing atall. Does that make me a wimp etc? No, just half sensible!

I agree Dull. Excessive alcohol consumption seems enmeshed with rugby in Wales at all levels, even at U16s it seems to be the norm. Cocaine also seems very popular with teams, and I know one Welsh rugby player who has taken it at some point... But I shan't elaborate! Aaawwbleedin'ell!!
