Well we are doing well with our fundraising, we've just managed to buy our 2nd Wheelchair Rugby Chair and our on our way to our next one.

Each one costs £2,600 and we need 14 more to be able to accommodate just the players that came to the taster sessions let alone the others!!!

So, if you're in Poole tomorrow night, we have a fundraiser to help us get our 3rd. Or if you would like to donate to help us get our 3rd then we would be most grateful.

It's not a cheap sport to play as the players need to be in proper wheelchair rugby chairs in order to not get injured (As if we're not injured enough) :D:D:D

It is an amazing sport to play and watch

Totally skint myself (ironic username eh?), but have shared you on facebook. Lot of rugby friends on there, so hopefully someone may be able to put together some kind of collection.

Good luck all.

Thank you Poor Rich Taff :D

Getting us known is very important as well. The more we are known and the more the sport is in the public domain, the better. ;)

Well we raised £534 from The Quiz Night and we are heading the right way to getting our 3rd wheelchair, but can you also help by doing the thing below?

OK, we've just been sent a link saying that our new Tesco is opening soon and has £2,500 to give out to a local group, but they want people to send in their nominations.

Could you send an e mail to [email protected] saying to nominate The Dorset Destroyers, Wheelchair Rugby Club as we are based near the store and because we are the only club in the county.

Thanks, it may well pay for our 3rd wheelchair.

Cheers

Nick

Well the big news is that we received a grant from Sport England/National Lottery for £9,519 in December which means with our other fundraising events we have enough money to put in an order for another [BLINK]4[/BLINK] Rugby Wheelchairs :D;)

We've now got 6 of our own, 2 borrowed and maybe another 2 or 4 more to borrow :D Only problem being that we have 19 players, so we're going to have to rotate the wheelchairs and need to buy another 19 more of our own to cover newer players as well.

BUT...it's getting there and we start officially on Sunday February 1st at The Junction Sport and Leisure Centre in Broadstone at 10.30 ;)
