Mostly agree: 1 Dean Greyling - started noticing him around the 1/2 way mark and its almost good Steenkamp got injured for him to come through as a great option. He murdered us in our last outing against the Bulls. 2 'Bus'marck - Lots of hookers had good seasons, Strauss and Botha in particular; Cheetahs really missed Strauss and while Fourie had a few memorable games he still needs some work on the basics. Bismarck at 3/4 form still takes it I agree. 3 Werner Kruger - I'm 50/50 here but feel that Kruger edges it with his work at the breakdown 4 Rynhardt Elstadt - Looked promising at the start of the season with Van Zyl injured and didn't look back. Beat out some tough competition for the no. 4 jersey. 5 Andries Bekker - Wilhelm Steenkamp had limited time and Matfield only started playing towards the end of the tournament. 6 Keegan Daniel - The pick of the fetchers with Brussow out. 7 Schalk Burger - He was just too consistantly bustling not to include here. Ashley Johson slipped too many tackles for me. 8 Duane Vermeulen - Such a pity he is all but out of RWC running. Josh Strauss the other contender IMO. 9 Sarel Pretorius - Joint top scorrer and he created almost tries and line-breaks as he took himself. I don't agree with his teammates making up for his defensive frailties though; 4 Cheetahs players are in the top 10 for missed tackles; him, the Ebersohn twins and Ashley Johnson. That leaves BIG holes all over the place. 10 Patrick Lambie - May the Gods be kind and have this kid play as a starter for SA. If not at 10 then at least at 15. 11 Gio Aplon - Consistantly dangerous. Probably I'm biased because Basson also had a good season. 12 Doppies LaGrange - Has had great seasons for a while now but never seems to come into the reckoning. 13 Jaque Fourie - Has been his hard tackling, line busting self consistently. 14 JP Pietersen - the form wing in SA. Keep it up! 15 Riaan Viljoen - the big miss ITO of Sringbok selection; he has it all. I just hope he'll stick around and get his calling after this RWC. I wouldn't say so; my picks for the 3N/RWC would look markedly different than who I felt were on form. Du Preez will drag us to another ***le all on his own. If he's not fit, the other reasons are Pienaar and Hougaard. Debatable I guess but these guys make pretty good arguments and have the experience over Pretorius.
