Super Rugby will expand to 15 teams in 2011, with the inclusion of Australia's newest franchise, Melbourne Rebels, and you can watch the ritzy made-for-television birth announcement live on foxsports.com.au.
Fox Sports rugby commentator Greg Clark will host the spectacular event at Hoyts Fox Studios in Sydney from 2pm (EST) on September 13, accompanied by Sky Sports New Zealand commentator Tony Johnson and Fox Sports rugby personality Rod Kafer.
They will be joined by a number of Super Rugby players and coaches to explain in layman’s terms the developments to be launched in the new season.
Players in attendance include Will Genia, Berrick Barnes, Benn Robinson, Salesi Ma’afu, Dean Mumm, James Horwill, Nick Cummins and former All Blacks prop Greg Somerville, who has signed with Melbourne Rebels.
The developments include the Rebels' debut under former Wallabies coach Rod Macqueen; an exciting three-conference system that will feature more derby fixtures; a new finals format; and more regular-season matches in a year that will conclude with the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.
Make sure you log on to foxsports.com.au shortly before 2pm on Monday, September 13, to watch the announcement on our exclusive live streaming video stream.
Foxtel and Austar subscribers can also watch the Super Rugby launch live on Fox Sports News, Channel 513, from 2pm (EST).
