Super Rugby Final: Chiefs vs. Brumbies (03/08/13)

CHIEFS TEAM NAMED TO PLAY BRUMBIES IN FINAL

The Chiefs have announced their team to play the Brumbies in the Investec Super Rugby Final match at Waikato Stadium this Saturday night at 7.35pm.

The Chiefs have announced their team to play the Brumbies in the Investec Super Rugby Final match at Waikato Stadium this Saturday night at 7.35pm.
The Chiefs will play in front of a sold out stadium as they attempt to win back to back Investec Super Rugby ***les.
Chiefs coach Dave Rennie is excited that the Chiefs are hosting their second consecutive final. "There has been an enormous amount of hard work to get us into this position and we are excited to be playing in front of the people who mean the most to us," said Rennie.
Rennie knows that it will be a highly emotionally charged occasion with Craig Clarke, Lelia Masaga, Toby Smith, Richard Kahui and Brendon Leonard all heading off shore at the end of the season.
"They have all been a big part of the Chiefs family and we want to send these outstanding Chiefs men out on a high with back to back ***les," said Rennie.
Dave Rennie has named the same team that beat the Crusaders in the semi final. There is a bracket around winger Lelia Masaga who still has to get through the last training; however Rennie is optimistic he will play.
Fans are encouraged to get to the game early to avoid queues and make the most of the pre-match entertainment from Chiefs supporter Stan Walker. Gates open at 5.50pm.
The Chiefs and the Waikato Regional Council will run a free bus on game night. Buses start from 6pm from Hood St to the Stadium and back to Hood St after the match and leave approximately every 15minutes.

Great to see Rennie stick to the team that did the job against the Crusaders. In particular it's nice to see Horrell and Smith backing up from last week. I hope Masaga is fit to play!

yeah feeling pretty good about it. Horrell and Anscombe will be in good shape after the run last week and Messam looks like he's stepped up a gear for the finals.

Hope Masaga is good, gonna miss that boy at the chiefs :( I still think masaga is the most determined runner and pound for pound the most powerful runner in super rugby

End of an era for the chiefs really. Shame Leonard is not in the 22

Saw Ben Tameifuna out on the **** on Thursday night. That dude is always hammered in town though.

Some dudes have such a **** attitude eh. He could probably could be a decent AB if he pulled his head in.

It's quite surprising how often some of the big names are out, a few have stakes in some of the bars in the city. Stephen Donald used to be big on the town apparently.

What an absolutely terrible call from the TMO.

"Firstly it was only a tackle." - what does this even mean?? Is he saying it's not a ruck? Because that's obviously incorrect.

"Secondly, the halfback had his hands on the ball." - how can a referee make such a bad error in law? This is completely irrelevant.

The exact same thing caused the first break which gave the Brumbies their first 3 points. Two errors have directly given the Brumbies 10 points.

Just woke up...so whatImiss*?!

*translation: Has Justin Marshall said anything brilliant yet? :D

das

And the exact same thing just happened! What the hell is wrong with these referees??

Not accurate at all from the chiefs. 10 points down with 20 to go against this brumbies team.. Could be a bit too much to ask. Brumbies are really smashing into everything around the rucks and disrupting ball.

Sam cane proving how not good he is. That was a terrible place and situation to knock on there.
