this is the rebels best chance to get on the board this season! hope the planets can align although I think the cheetahs will give the rebels a good run after the brumbies game.

Cheetahs will be angry over last week and pumped but I could very much see the rebels take this one. In fact, I consider them favorites.

I'd go so far as to say that the rebels are probably the third best Aussie team this year, up against SA's bottom feeder, and they are playing at home.

Weak defences on both sides, hopefully we'll get a few tries, I'd love to see O'Connor and Beale come to the party. Would like to start my Sunday morning with a cracker!

I hope the Cheetahs smash the Rebels! since the Bulls aren't playing this weekend, I have to cheer my 2nd fav team on, and they are the Cheetahs... Hope to see some good running rugby from both teams, throwing everything they got at the other team...

The Rebels lack serious scrum power which will cost them against the strong Cheetahs pack. I hope Drotske can get his men ready for this and show the world what they can do. It will be interesting to see the battle between JOC and Goosen

With Coenie and Adriaan in the front row I have a little bit of faith in this Cheetahs pack.
Goosen must play a very clever game and Brussouw pesting the **** out of the Rebels, might just be the surprise of the weekend.

Presume this isn't been shown on sky? Annoyed Beale's pulled out.

Prophetic!!

Although I believe the surprise of the weekend surely has to be the Force beating the Waratahs.... in Sydney!!!

dissapointing result considering it's the best i've seen the rebels live, cheetahs deserved the win nonetheless. it was good to see o'connor play with a bit of space too. i'll be there this friday, hopefully we can go one better against the force this week.

interesting starting line up, they announced johansson to start but he was nowhere to be seen. huxley really struggled, gerrard seemed quiet and cipriani 10, o'connor 12 worked so much better than o'connor at 10.

Didn't see the game but glad the Cheetahs managed a win as they seldom show the nerve to get a result in close matches; and they're always close matches LOL.

I heard Goosen had a good game and looked a bit more comfortable? Hopefully they can build on this win and possibly upset one of the Kiwi teams. Also good to see Le Roux get some gametime as he looked very dangerous in the Currie Cup last year against the Bulls and I was surprised to not see him in the run on side in the early matches.

Le Roux had a great game vs. the Rebels... especially on attack, and his Interception try was perfect! reminded me of the good ol days of Jean De Villiers and Habana... He got a yellow though for trying to intercept once again and the ref felt he deliberately knocked it down.

Adriaaan Strauss plays like a man obsessed. He leads by example.
Good game and a for a change the Cheetahs won a close one, well done chaps

On this form Strauss has got to be a starting boks prop? It's early in the season but he isn't just getting over the advantage line, he's getting 10 metres past it and sucking in 3 defenders while he's at it.

Nope... he's a hooker...

Dam, unlucky for him. Still, BdP has some competition at this rate.

In the Cheetahs-front row they are all build the same way. Oosthuizen, Nel and Strauss are all exactly the same. I think Strauss can play prop for the Boks ;)

Heyneke Meyer said last year (before he got the post as Bok coach) that he would have taken Adriaan to the World Cup.

In a lot of ways Strauss is a better option than Bismark, I feel like Bismark almost acts like a fetcher/hooker hybrid, which works well in a side like the Sharks where they don't really have a dedicated fetcher but we might want someone with more consistency in open play who doesn't give away so many penalties.

Will be very interesting to see what Heyneke does in June, also depends on who is on form I suppose.

agree'd strauss was excellent for the cheetahs on sunday. Ashley Johnson also made a great impact when he came on, his break at the end let to the try being scored.
